shocking decision making by melksham to try to tap it rather than take possession

Not if Jones hadn't dropped it. The best teams in the Comp use the knock, flick, tap incredibly well.

Nice finish.

Salem = BOG in first half.

Yep, he's been terrific.  Great decision maker.  Brayshaw and, surprisingly, Smith were close behind.

Inevitable Dogs comeback, you don't win a flag without some class in your side.  Good to go in ahead at half time and we can re-boot and have another crack in the second half.

Along with half the competition we're trying to emulate the bulldogs style.

All this blowing smoke up the Dogs backside is giving me the irrits.

Get used to it. As the reigning premiers, everything they do is automatically the best and to be fawned over.

We look a lot sharper than last year, but dogs are a good side with the wind behind them!

Smith and Salem have been great

liking brayshaws game so far as well

Joel Smith = Round 1 lock to play on Membrey. Salem move to midfield will make a massive difference. Too many of our players are getting sucked inside the contest leaving free dogs on the outer contest for the handball flicked out.

These commentators can talk some smack. Gerard Healy was impressed with Wagner's speed off half back last year. WTF? He's as slow as a turtle (has some other, good traits of course). I'm no doctor but Wagner's injury might be an achilles. Sad for him.

Joel Smith will play 100+ games for us, lock it in.

That's their big party trick ..... need to work out the counter if the umps are not going to police the questionable handballs

We're winning right ?

It wouldn't surprise me if Gerard confused Wagner for Hunt.

Spot on with your last comment, but that's the beauty of not only the pre-season but also playing a good side.  We can look at what we can fix and what we're doing wrong.  Apart from their run on I'm very happy with how we look at the minute.

At the ground where we just kicked into the wind. Was howling when Wieds took his kick hence the poor trajectory.

Positives:

- Smith is a player

- Salem is all class and involved a lot

- Jones and Viney involved in everything

- VB Cans only $5

- Trac and Bradshaw both busy

Negatives

- too Hogan conscious in the first quarter

- need some beater kicks and not bombing going inside 50

- easy goals from WB from half forward

- TMac having a pretty sour game so far

Shouldn't this be on it's own in the 'Major Positives' section?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
