Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Love the barney about Oscar chasing kicks up the field.  This is one of the benefits with players being very comfortable with each other - you can have a "frank discussion" with each other and get what needs to be said, said.  Great stuff.

Both Dunn and Garland are surplus to our needs and will move on at seasons end. Garland has always been a limited player and Dunn isn't smart enough to take his game to the next level.

And replace them with who exactly ?

All fair and easy to say lets just get rid of them but atm they are depth that we need in our defence stock. It only takes Frost or Oscar to go down with injury and before you know it Garland and Dunn will suddenly be important playing memebers that will have to step.

They deserve to remain on our list and honour their contracts. And right now they are important depth players.

Agreed Daz, unless there is a suitable trade.

We've been blessed with minimal injuries over the last couple of months. If the 2 Macs went down, Judy and Dunny would play. Whatever individuals think of them, we need depth.

Dark Matter, huh?  There's your problem!  Your data on galactic gravity is million of years out-of-date.  What the gravity is now is unknown.

Agree with that Dazzle, they are the only 2 key defenders we have as backup if Frost or the MCD brothers go down. Last thing we need is having to put our young key forwards down back to cover their losses. Like Spencer they are not in the best side but provide experience who can help develop the youngersters, especially at training. They were both loyal to us when they could have walked as free agents, we should do the same, they should see out their contracts unless they want to leave

lets just hang onto players that will never don the red and blue again then eh ?

If all they are doing is playing in the other paddock they have become essentially list cloggers..

Might as well bring in some more youth and train /develop into players we WILL use

Also a pretty handy golfer from all reports - sub par round at Royal Melbourne was mentioned in an interview with Mark Allen.

Your completely missing the point..

To bring in more youth you need senior heads to help with their development and take the heat off them. And thats exactly what Dunn and Garland are now doing at Casey.

If they have to play the rest of their careers down at Casey then so be it. They provide leadership for our younger players and help drive the standard that required.

If Oscar or Tom go down with injury then who do you replace then with if you want to get rid of Garland and Dunn at the end of the year? You simply cannot throw a skinny underdeveloped 18 at full back and expect them to do the job.

Dunn and Garland stay on the list simply for insurance.

Not even a backhanded one this time, just an every day compliment.

Oscar's current update (13/1/17):

"Oscar has really emerged again. We all saw really good snippets of Oscar’s progression last year. He’s bigger and stronger again, and has the capacity to run and still carry it. Oscar’s on the verge of becoming a very good player."

It may be a case of convincing everyone but you.

Oscar is a footballer while Frost is an athlete.

There is room for both, but maybe not every week.

It's hard to believe he could get much bigger/ stronger. He really is our Glen Jakovich.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
