That photo probably overstates Smith's change in body shape. It's noticeable but not crazy. The change in definition is what makes him look so impressive but it's a good change from a basketballer to a footballer's body. Having that background in pro sports and being a bit older probably helps.

I'm excited that they have music. Just one speaker so far but it's something I think they could build on and play crowd noise during goal kicking practise, play some tunes during the warmup and maybe cut it off for the focused training.

I think it's a sign that Goodwin isn't afraid to be innovative and to mix things up.

So music is a tick from me.

Toilets must be next.:pj:

Then a sound wall and more trees to stop the toxic diesel fumes at the freeway end please.

By all reports, Joel Smith and McKenna could be real smokies next season.

ANB looks like a man on a mission too.

Havent seen enough of Maynard as yet but competition for spots is going to be fierce.

That is very good news.

Maynard doesn't look too bad for a B class rookie, if that makes sense, I expected his kicking to be all over the place but it's quite good, and he is like a sponge asking questions all the time, when he is not in the drill, he watches intently

This kid could be really something. Looking at the list and the kids coming on, there is not only going to be competition for spots, there are also going to be some very disappointed footballers.

They are building a block on the corner DS, still means a run there and back though, Jesse used this as a warm up this morning

Sounds like it from a couple of reports but someone mentioned in one of the training day threads there is a push for him to move to small fwd. I know we are well represented at inside mid but not sure that move will pan out.

Love the reports thanks.

Was Ollie maybe looking for a drink?  Or the booze bus on Punt Road?

That's not nice, already reported the poor bugger was crook, can't take a trick, spoke to him, didn't look or sound well, believe there has been a bit of a bug floating around the club

Gee I don't know about that... He looks like he's put on about 5 kegs of lean muscle on his jaw and neck alone

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
