Benny Cousins, Chris Yarran....Who's Next

Richmond's recruiting over the last 10 years could well be worse than ours, and i say that in all seriousness!!

But they did get rid of Vickers, so that's a plus.

Sorry guys, he is clearly in mental distress, I find it hard to gloat over this.

Very true.

It won't however stop me from hanging it on my Tiger supporting mates.

The Tiges have come through a period where they overrated their list.

They were good enough to make a few finals but not to win one.

They've made some poor decisions, they overpaid for Yarran (I thought so at the time so this episode has no bearing on my thoughts) and Hampson to name a couple.

...but their biggest mistake was in re signing Dimmer. They were too scared and scarred to make the move they should have made a couple of years back.

Balme will add some stability but will he have enough time to turn them around?

The Tigs may rise slightly up the ladder this year and next, but will plummet back down near the bottom for an extended period, because outside of Rance, Reiwoldt and Martin their list falls away terribly.

Prestia is an unknown, but his injuries won't allow him to get back to where he was prior to them, Cotchin is a shadow of his former self, and the coach and FD (not to mention the board) clearly overrates their list.

I will be amazed if they haven't already begun their plummet..The warning lights have been flashing hard core since they lost the final to Carlton...

will be an interesting watch.

Their list is putrid. You don't win finals with 1 gun defender, 1 gun midfielder and a bunch of mediocre mids.

And tying up 8% of your salary cap to one midfielder is idiotic beyond belief.

'He spent the off-season working through a tailored program with personal trainer Tom Couch'

It would appear that the program consisted of running from the local bakery to KFC and back. Perhaps it's a typo and 'Tom Couch' should read 'The Couch'

My Carlton mate said he was finished 2 years ago, so you wonder how these recruiting blunders are made..The Tigers paid top dollar

I mean if they had picked him up at 85 in the draft it wouldn't be an issue

Punt Road must be going off with anger tonight and rightly so

Why would they do that? They've got their saviour in Prestia. He'll solve all their problems!

At what point did Richmond realize the extent of the issue? If this has been going on for a length of time, surely you cut your losses before the trade season. Mind boggling.

Don't wish to admit defeat i guess, inside the club though you would expect a few heads to roll.

He was never going to play i was told, via Carlton mail..

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
