I would have thought they would be bubbling with excitement at the 2 new marquee signings, but no, appears some are not satisfied with the upcoming 2017 flag.

Didn't you hear? Their coach said they're going to play finals!

Peter Casey promised the fans that if elected Richmond will strive to finish in there rightful position of 9th.

my original post contained similar wording, but I did an edit because I thought it was too predictable.

I know someone who was in that ridiculous other lot that tried to take over a couple of months ago. They haven't given up yet and in his words "we are not going away"

Yeh, wow, what a situation.  A person challenges for a Board position.  Hold the presses, this is one hell of a story.

Unlike us when the wheels fell off in 2008 and Stynes got rid of the whole Board.

Madness at Tigerland, that's for sure. Still trying to catch my breath.

Not to mention the outrage at what they gave up for Prestia

It's only $800k a year...  Love his endeavour though; he's certainly aspirational if he thinks he can take Richmond to September. If nothing else he'll fit in with all the other delusional people at that club.

Thank God he did, we have come a long way since then, we went down for a while but at least we got rid of the apathy that existed and now we have a new and vibrant club.  If we left that board in we would have, in all probability, still been wallowing at the bottom and probably still fighting for survival.

It's difficult to sit back and watch a club rip themselves apart and KB has played a massive part in it by mentioning his own team every day on air. They are making consequitive bad decisions- papering over cracks .Doing long term damage.

Difficult to watch mostly because I laugh whenever a new story comes out about how disfunctionsl and toxic it now is.

The worst ideas of AFL season 2016

Part of the fun of following the AFL is the constant stream of bad ideas and their unintended consequences.

Yes, the AFL and its clubs are a terrific case study in the Dunning-Kruger effect

Most fans think they could run their club or the competition better than those who currently do and looking at this list, they’re probably right.

Extending Damien Hardwick’s contract

Much has been written about this already. It made no sense at the time, let alone with hindsight.

The Board said they had to do it when they did, to lock Hardwick in. You only need to lock something in that people would try to steal.

Of course, it was also a bad idea because it led to…

Focus on Football Ticket

The rival ticket’s push for the Richmond Board was so shambolic and inept; it made me believe they were qualified to be the Richmond Board.

They certainly seemed to have everything required, a vague platform, poor media skills and a general sense that this was all being made up as they went along.

Focus on Football even had the same policies as the current board.

So bad was this campaign that it made the current board look competent.

Truly, that takes some doing. I mean, this was a board that appointed an accounting firm to review their football department.

That’s like getting Brendon Fevola to review your finance department.

What's wrong with an Accounting Firm reviewing a football department ?

After all football is all about the numbers e.g goals for and against, number of inside 50'so etc.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
