I was pretty impressed by this guy.

His career has been thwarted badly by injury. I don't know if he's over it.

He showed incredible ,Viney-like ,desperation in the games I saw him.

Essendon  have to delist some players who might have the goods to fit in all the returning banned players.

Have any other Demonlanders noticed him? Does anyone know if he's over his injuries?

I think we should put a full stop to this thread

Great.... you obviously have watched Kommer closely, and are so sure he's not up to it you can ridicule my post.

Please fill me in with what you've noticed about him.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I can think of a myriad of reasons as to why I think he'd be a pointless signing.

If you're recruiting him believing that he'd be best 22, where are you playing him and who makes way for him?

Secondly, if you're recruiting him as 'depth', do you believe that he is better depth than those players we've just released who play similar roles? (Jones, Terlich and Michie).

Thirdly, the bloke used to have dreads.

To answer the OP: Yes he had great desperation and was a good scrappy pressure forward for a while there in 2013.

But then has had 2014 and 2015 wrecked by injury and did very little this year.

I'd like to add a pressure forward to our list but not an injury prone 26 year old with poor skills, limited ability to get the ball and limited flexibility to play any other position.

None of them are perfect but Garlett, Kennedy, Harmes and Vandenberg all offer far more than Kommer and there's no desperate need to add another depth player to that group.

Just watched his highlights he is/was a tenacious player,  good runner with speed bit of a Ben Kennedy type. Not sure of his age now

Can we just have one thread titled "Other club's delisted players that we shouldn't touch"?

Then we can have the one place for Nyuon, Kommer, Green, Everitt, Clark and anyone else, and save thread space.

Thanks Dee spencer

I didn't realise he's 26.

I thought he was about 22.

I guess all the knowledgeable detractors knew that.  I was seeking information, so I should have checked Wikipedia.

I reckon he'll go well in the WAFL.

Always check the AFL player ratings when discussing a player. They aren't always perfect but they'll give you their age and a pretty good understanding of where a player is at in their career.

My father in law is an Essendon man, so naturally when we talk footy it's all about essendon.

He said he was a good tackler and handy defensive forward but lacked the tools required to be a small forward in the AFL. his vfl season was poor, when competition for spots in the senior side were at an all time low.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
