Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No credible journalists have said anything about Rockliff. This is al driven by a demonlanders far fetched scenario being stated as fact. Will be very surprised if this gets any more momentum.

When you say credible journalists, you mean people like Barrett, Ralph and Wilson, who all said they believed Hogan was going home to play with Freo. Or do you mean other credible journalists like Hardie, Langdon and I think Denham initially, who said the same thing. Or do you mean still other credible journalists who get half their stories wrong as well?

Would you be more inclined to believe a rumour if none of the aforementioned journos mentioned a thing about it?

The fact of the matter is there has been no talk of Rockliff by any 'officials'.

We all have our sources... and mine says we haven't spoken to him:)

Gen Dee's source was from Brisbane.

Do you consider your source gives it to you straight or would they tend to keep things under wraps - under instruction from the club?

Due to all the speculation, I contacted my nephew who is into the footy scene (coaching and development) up north and asked him about Rockcliff. He said he'd met him 3 0r 4 times and found him a genuine down to earth guy.

However, he also stated with some conviction that he did not consider him a leader. He was unaware of any Rockcliff to Demons move.

You can question there credibility but end of the day it is there jobs to be in the scene and break news. Not 1 has said even a whisper of this.

We will or won't get Rockliff, of that I am 100% certain. Unfortunately there are so many conflicting rumours around, you can't be sure of anything.

What I was showing you, is that these journos don't always know and get it right all the time. Sometimes they simply don't know.

There could be a deal that has been kept very quiet. On the other hand it could be all BS.

We will probably have some idea by 2.00PM  thursday, or maybe not.

My source is generally extremely vague, but in regards to Rockliff they were very blunt.

My understanding of the issues surrounding Rock at Brisbane is that he has clashed with the rest of the group through being too blunt and harsh over what he sees as a lack of effort, commitment and professionalism. In essence, he's talking to his team the way Neeld did at the MFC and getting a similar response. The media were talking about this last year before it got lost in the narrative surrounding the coaching mess. If that is the case, then his perceived issues could be more about his leadership than his quality as a player. In a more professional side he would be fine.

This could be why there is no percieved interest from other clubs regarding Tom... the deal has already been done to join the Dees and because we don't leak this could be why it seems no one is interested..

The guy is a 26 year old AA captain entering the prime and because of a few derogatory tweets and the fact he tells it like it is to his hopeless team mates is no reason for there to be no interest in such a quality player.

We couldn't be that lucky, could we. But we could be that smart, couldn't we?

Definitely don't see him coming to the Dee's this trade period. Though the attitude problem doesn't worry me one bit.

Goodwin would break him down and rebuild him piece by piece. The guy is a psychological genius with these kids.

Plus the player culture instilled will sort him out in seconds. The boys would instantly give him no choice but to befriend them all and teach him the Roos way of football professionalism.

Yes he definitely has connections.  Exciting times.  Will for sure be tuning in the next four days to listen to tosspot Barrett and the gravel-like dulcet tones of Plough Wallace.

Bring on Rockliff.

The rumour mill is normally more quiet on weekends. I tweeted about 12 credible journalists around 2 hours ago asking for confirmation on the Rockliff rumour. Not one has replied. Guessing they just have no idea. I'm sure if there is any truth to it, we would find out tomorrow. Now that there has been a whisper, phoned will be ringing like mad for conformation this week

And they still won't get anything. Before everything went down last week, Barrett was criticising melbourne for not getting the Hibberd trade done, claiming that we try to do a thousand different things instead of what was right in front of us

Robbo has tweeted that no chats have been had between lions and dees (yet). He isn't normally that straightforward unless he has some intel.

I guess they have 4 days to turn the rumour into fact. FWIW my feeling is he won't leave lions

I just don't see why we'd add Lewis if we got Rockliff. I know Rockliff can play forward but he's best on the ball as a clearance player and we'd be getting slow and inside heavy if we added both Rockliff and Lewis. No point dominating the clearances if you can't make use of them with outside runners and skill.

So seeing that Lewis is getting closer to a sure thing I'm choosing to believe Rockliff isn't as likely.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
