Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden

Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

    The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

    Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We all love big Max and he has played some pearlers this year.  

In all of our losses bar one (Norf) Max has done little outside of his rucking. ie marks, possies and goals.

In all of our wins Max has been awesome with his contested marking and work up forward.

Seems to be no middle ground.

Clearly we depend on him a great deal. 

Do we need to play 2 fulltime rucks so Max can tae more marks and kick more goals?

I think we should play Spencer and Gawn in the same team and have a forward line with Hogan, Watts and the resting ruck man. Of course this is not going to happen because our coaches have a love affair with Dawes, but this would give us one of the most dominant ruck combinations in the comp and would give us a genuine advantage in most games.

Gawn needs to find that consistency by the end of the year. Bridging the gap between our best and worst is what this season is about, both from a team perspective and an individual perspective.

Never disputing his ruck work and yea it was not a day for notching up marks but if you watch the game  unlike any of our wins  he couldnt get down forward to create havoc. And yes he was the sole ruck without Pedo but I guess thats essentially my point.

Some days his marking is fantastic, others it's not so good and he just doesn't seem to get to as many contests. He has only just ticked over 50 games so it's possible that he's experiencing some fatigue... he'd be close to the most games played in a season already this year, wouldn't he?
