I was going to make this best and worst film of all time but picking the best film is too hard. But the bad ones stick out like dogs balls.

Of the current crop which absolutely polarised people - "Tree of Life " with Brad Pitt/Sean Penn..... ( kill me...kill me now)

Agree on Tree of Life... I bought that on BluRay based on the praise I had heard.... BIG mistake.

However, the film I have hated more than just about any other would have to be Independence Day 4.... apart from a few decent effects, the thing was, to put it nicely, pitiful!  Most films of this ilk I can appreciate on a level of "so bad it's good" and have a bit of a laugh, but for some reason ID4 couldn't even elicit that kind of a response from me... when I first saw it in the cinema, all I could feel was anger.

The worst of the most recent movies I've seen is The Hateful Eight - Tarantino's worst movie, I think he knew it was horrible so he tried to save it with even more than usual over the top violence. I get the feeling it was more of a parody and the violence was suppose to be funny but it was far from it.

Anything by Adam Sandler after 50 First Dates or so.

I actually don't want to watch Happy Gilmore again because I worry his modern-day crapness will retroactively make one of my favourite movies bad.

"I am Sam" with Sean Penn - truly terrible.

A film called 'The Loneliest Planet' will never leave me. Atrocious movie with a storyline that could have been told in 5 minutes, with one particular scene involving an establishing landscape shot that lasted about 4 minutes. Half a dozen people left the cinema when it was playing and I was almost number 7.

Other notable mentions... Only God Forgives, American Sniper, Anchorman 2 and most superhero movies ever produced.

My ex gf made me go to the outdoor cinema the Botanic Gardens a few years ago to see Breakfast at Tiffany's and I did not enjoy the movie at all. She also made me to go see other really boring movies that even she didn't like, but I cannot recall their names.

She thought she was going to like them... Maybe she liked a particular actress or something. She didn't deliberately choose bad movies to annoy me haha.

It was boring but Audrey Hepburn doing that thrashing guitar solo on that stratocaster during "moon river" is epic.(seriously - I have no problem if you can't play the guitar but why on earth would you put one in her hand ??)

Lovely fingers though 'nut bean'....

Interesting story from Bob Bain who was the guitar player....

“When the date was over the contractor (Phil Coggin) came over and said ‘Bobby, you stay.’ The whole orchestra left and I’m sitting around. Hank said ‘Why don’t you go over to Nick’s. We won’t need you for another half hour. All you’ll need is your gut string (guitar).’ I figured that they wanted me to play a little background music or something. When I came back, Audrey Hepburn was in the studio. The studio had been darkened and the only people there were the engineer in the booth, the producer (Blake Edwards), Hank, and an assistant in the booth to run the tape machine. They had told everybody else to essentially get lost. Audrey did not want to sing with a big orchestra. She wanted to record ‘Moon River’ with just guitar and voice. She was so nice and very easy to accompany. She was really a good singer, too…. She made one take and we went in the booth to listen to it. Hank asked her if she thought she could do it one more time and she agreed. We did a second take and that was it. Then Hank took that track (with just guitar and voice) and overdubbed strings. In the picture, the first sixteen bars has Audrey in a window or a doorway singing ‘Moon River’ with just guitar and then the orchestra sneaks in. It ended up with this really nice orchestration.”

Bad movies just this year.

The fifth wave was god awful, Batman V Superman was the most horrid portrayal of Batman i have ever seen, Ben Afleck as batman that's a good idea REALLLLLYY!!!???

Didn't really think much of Finding Dory either, although didn't see it with kids so...

All time:

He-Man

Ladyhawke - Even though i was in love with Michelle Pfeiffer at the time!

Cocktail

Grease 2 - Again still in love with Michelle!

Blues Brothers 2000 - This would have to be my most hated sequel

There are soooo many more but i cant be bother adding them.

I watched that on my flight to NZ this week, and loved it.

Yeah sorry ET but i cannot agree and it wasn't just his portrayal of the Dark Knight, it was the whole damn movie, just high budget crap.

The ultimate edition came out today, 30 mins extra footage, explains some of the plot holes. I think the movie was too rushed but I quite enjoyed it. Much better than the last couple of Avengers movies, they're too 'cookie cutter' for my liking.

Big budget movies are pretty much all the same, dull and boring. The exception for mine is Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy.

I thought the second Avengers film was pretty ordinary, but I really enjoyed the latest Capt America Civil War thing.... nicely tongue in cheek.  Of all of them though, the one I have enjoyed most is Guardians of the Galaxy.

I passed on Civil War, but will see it when it comes to Blu Ray. I also enjoyed Guatdians of the Galaxy, thanks for the reminder. Chris Pratt is quite funny and charismatic, I like most of his work. Andy from Parks and Recreation is one of my favourites.

Yeah guardians was pretty good, but i have enjoyed all the avenger movies, the guy who played spider man did the character justice.

Just recently watched Divergent enjoyed the concept and the redhead, going to watch insurgent soon.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
