Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If he requests a trade he will leave this year. Freo should do better next year and won't have a top 5 pick.

Reckon he signs on till he is a FA, then probably goes.

The probably will all depend on how the team are doing. If we are on the cusp of winning a flag he would stay, if we aren't he goes, and if we have won a flag it could go either way as it could be a case of job done, now go back to WA and surf with my mates.

If he signs on till he's a FA under current rules, then it's a 5 year (or 4, don't think that 17yr old season counts) contract...I'm happy to roll the dice on that kind of time period.

I have felt that Jesse is not worth the attention monetarily and skills wise for many weeks. Whether it be the injury or form or age...my guts tell me he is not the standard we should uphold as being a path to success  (with regards to the role he currently fills(Its not the shortcomings but how he may (not) addresses them. He will mature and become an important player for a team...but is it our team?...we lack inforcers...I have been thinking of brisbane in the early 2000s and lauding the scott bros toughness...forwards are only as good as their servants...? Not a criticism of you or others who have diferent ideas; I wish to contribute however misguided.

Could I please have some of whatever you are taking?

If he signs on for five years, reaching free agency, then by the time the contract is up we'll either be a first rate club or trying to salvage the rubble all over again.

Just think, who else will be in their mid or late 20s by then - if they haven't come along to be a core group of at least a dozen first-rate players, we're screwed.

30/31 - Watts, Jetta, Garlett

28/29 - Melksham, Gawn, Trengove, Vandenberg, T. McDonald, Tyson, Bugg,

26/27 - Kent, Kennedy, Viney, Wagner, Hogan, Hunt, Salem

24/25 - Harmes, Petracca, Brayshaw, Neal-Bullen, O. MCdonald, Stretch, Weideman, Oliver

Wow, looking at that, Hogan would have to be mad to leave! :)

My feeling is that Jesse will sign a 5 year deal with us and it will be around the 1 mil a year mark. But for all his talk about how good the team is progressing he also needs to consider the amount he gets paid and that if he gets paid an excess amount he could potentially hurt our chances of maintaining the core group of good young players coming through.

The club just needs to keep giving him reasons to stay and less reasons to go! Also get him attached to a Victorian Girlfriend who doesn't want to leave!

As for his quality, the attributes are there but for me a weapon he really should be better at given his size is kicking beyond 45m. I hope over the off season it's something the coaching staff really look at improving as well as his general run up. I don't have the biggest confidence in his accuracy despite the stats saying he's usually quite good.

Not sure that either Hill or McCarthy joining Freo impacts their ability to entice Hogan next year. Neither player will be on big coin, and I don't see Freo giving up a lot of either.

Hill would be a big loss for Hawthorn I would have thought. Is that cliff coming up? I know that sounds ridiculous given their position on the ladder, but it has to happen some time.

Brad Hill is not anywhere near being in Hawthorns top 15 players. He does the occasional useful thing but he's a passenger on the Hawthorn bus. His team mates carry him for the most part. No loss to the hawks if he goes. Clanger numbers go down with him out of their side.

He has been a good player for them, but over the past season or so his performances haven't been as good. A few Hawthorn supporters I know would be happy for him to leave & see him as a bit of a liability. Personally I think he adds a lot of run to their team & would be happy to have him at Melbourne as it's what we are crying out for. The other issue with Hill is (that if you believe rumours) he was at the centre of the Grand Final day aftermath scandal & there is also the assault charges that he had laid from a night club scuffle.

He's slightly better than Leroy Jetta. He'll struggle in an average side.

I was more referring to the thought that he might ask for a trade this year, rather than leaving as uncontracted next year.

You are right re: coin, and I don't think either us or freo will struggle to fit him in. But just maybe Freo are moving on to meeting other players, because they know Jesse isn't leaving

13 goals in the last 7 games. Hardly enough. We could have beaten Adelaide, West Coast and yes even the Hawks with a switched on Hogan.  Just an observation that Jesse is not appearing to be desperate and ultra competitive recently.

Now I understand!  Our losses are all Jesse's fault.  How dare a 20 year old kid with the weight of the club on his shoulders have a few down weeks.  Trade him I say!

He's on track to kick 50 goals this year, as effectively a second year player.

Adelaide he played on Talia who beats everyone

West coast he copped Mcgoven who's a bloody good defender

Hawks he copped Chip Frawley who is beating most forwards

I am not the least bit worried about Jesse as a player, he's going along beautifully.

Almost 2 a game. Averaging about the same as last year. Been a tough 2 month period for not only him, but the team. I think we're like 2-5 or 1-6 in that period.

Silly comment, anyway. He's been among our best on many occasions, but has had 2 poor games.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
