Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hogan is a tremendous player and I really hope he signs with us, but if he's set on going home to Perth I hope he makes that known this year so we can do a deal while he's in contract and Freo are in the bottom 4.  If we got equitable compensation for him, I've seen enough from Weidemann and Hulett, and with Watts improvement this year to feel comfortable that we could still continue our rise to challenge.

Agreed.

I'd have a lot more respect for Hogan if he comes clean at the end of the year and says his intentions are to return to WA at the end of the contract, "so why not trade me a year earlier to maximize your (MFC) return". As opposed to stuffing the club around for a further 12 months and and us holding less bargaining power.

Whichever way we paint it, losing Hogan would be a very big blow to the club. Weed and Hulett might come on next year in the seniors, but we know Hogan is a bona fide star in the making and pretty close now. I'm keeping my head in the sand and refusing to consider it because losing Hogan would definitely set us back.

No-one would dispute that.  But if he wants to go home - well that's it.  I can see how we can avoid a disaster in that case.

I know it's not exactly scientific, but all you have to do is watch Hogan's body language and interaction with his teammates at training or on gameday.
Unless we get blown out of the water by another team paying him $2mil per year, he's with us for the long haul.

Or unless - heaven forbid - we remain winless for the second half of the season...

Did anyone see or hear Kings comments on SEN. Good signs for the Dees. (From where we've come from)

In summary said Dees arent a basket case anymore.

I'm actually starting to believe Hogan might stay.

Either way he's a genuine gun he wont be able to lewve for cheap so it won't be a complete disaster

I heard the first 6 or 7 minutes. They were pretty complimentary of the whole team and the way they are coached. They went on to talk about TMac and gave him a big rap.

Anything reinforcing your opinion? Because if anything, recent comments are indicating that he's more likely to stay...

Anyone else ever wonder whether Demonland members act with the same paranoia and jealously in their real relationships as they do with their football players?

Half would have restraining orders out against them. A few probably do.

Some of Meggs' Dees supporting acquaintances are fully convinced he's heading back to WA but for some strange and inexplicable reason Meggs believes he will re-commit to us.

Anyway, Mr and Mrs Meggs are off to TIO Stadium for the big game and are looking forward to seeing our Number One man?

While we might not agree with what he says it dont mean it isn't wrong or that far from the truth.

Anyway I'm not suggesting King is the be all end all but its nice to have our club talked about in a positive light and as a destination club.

That is big IMO...

As a surfer, Hogan is addicted to the big wave and the ride. He now knows the MFC is a big wave with the team and talent coming through and will have no hesitation signing on to ride it all the way...

Very positive. Am I the only one who finds it irritating that, as soon as someone talks positively about the Dees for the first time in 15 years, all the others start moaning about him "banging on"? All they ever talk about is Richmond and Collingwood and that seems fine by everyone. God I hope we become a steamrolling juggernaut and stick it right up those pretentious pricks.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
