I was actually happy that Dunn was moved up forward.  We needed to attack to win that game, and needed more than Hogan to do it.  Pedo wasn't going to do it, Frost wasn't, Watts may have, so Roos had to try something "different".

Was it just coincidence that as soon as Dunn was moved forward, that Bruce kicked 2 goals and basically doubled his game possessions?

He was both. Caught out at times and unaccountable at times because he is lazy and unfit.

What are you implying saying "apparently" I was there?

I'll tell you where I sat Stuie, Melbourne cheersquad end, between point post and our race.  Yobbo and Daisy did their "run on the spot" promo, and gave a bloke sitting in the front row a voucher for a new pair of New Balance shoes.  I was about 6 rows behind him, and in the next bay around, although was quite close to him.  The lady in front of me got a scratch ticket from the 4'n'20 bloke - she won a pie, providing a goal was kicked between the 20-25 minute mark of the 1st and 2nd quarter, although he came down at half time handing out more scratch cards.

So, now that we have cleared up any confusion, yes, I was fcuking there, and I thought Dunn played a reasonable game.  My original post was to question those on this thread that wanted him dropped as I would've had him easily in my top 10 better players, and the fact he played mostly on Bruce, and kept him to 1 goal and a handful of possessions in 3 quarters confirms my view.

Ok at risk of getting my head bitten off, Can I make a suggestion? in a couple of weeks at the doggies game sit up the top deck and get a real good view of our zone defence. I agree he should not be dropped however i do not think he was that good and no he did not spend the most game on bruce. It is much easier to see our set up from above and i think you would then get the point they are making about bruce's own game being irrelevant in the Dunn discussion.

Billy and Stuie - I'm loving you're Dunn argument - and whilst I know Stuie is a stirrer, I'm afraid you can't win this one Billy.

I have been a big fan of Dunn because of his voice and leadershiip and against the big forwards he tunnels them well and ends up peeling back and getting a few cheap kicks and can unleash his power kicking skills without fear of failure.

But a few things conspired against Dunny last week - we were playing at Etihad, the fastest and, with the roof on, a wind-free ground that meant the ball came in long and quick.

Then we decided to play a defensive press and unfortunately Dunny often was the last line in the chain and could not effect any spoils or intercepts that I can remember - although he wasn't alone there. But unfortunately the style of play and the zone made Dunny look even slower than he is. He was moved as a result, just as Hunt was moved because he was easily brushed off the ball a couple of times and was too small for his match-up with Acres.

Dunny and Etihad don't really mix - it's probably why in Rd 23 last year they moved him to CHF and played O-Mac on Tomlinson.

Will he get dropped because of it? My guess is that he probably will because it highlighted why they were worried about him pre-season - and O-Mac was apparently handy in the reserves and has extra height to combat 2-metre Peter.

Didn't realise I had to "win" my own opinion, whether others agree or not.

AW, I have seen 2 games this year - my first games in over 3 years.  I still can't remember when I last saw us win live, especially when said games this year that I've been to have been Essendon and St Kilda.  Needless to say, it is highly unlikely that I will be going to many more games this year, and I can assure you the Dogs game will be one I won't attend.

Also, I can't stand sitting up the top at Etihad, and much prefer to be on the ground level.  You didn't need to be sitting up above to see that our backline was in all sorts on Saturday.  I was quite vocal about it within the first 90 seconds of the game, and continued until 3/4 time when we finally made changes.

Because they will lose? pretty disapointing reason man. I have seen us win live 3 times this year. ive also seen them lose live 3 times. This weekend will be the first one i miss and ill be back their against the doggies. They mightn't win, but if through some miracle they do then i wanna make sure im there. I am as frustrated as anyone with the weekend but im pretty excited to say that after the last decade im now going home happy every 2nd week! And given you have only seen 2 games of our backline at work i doubt u understand where it is actually at or how it works. I can tell u the last 2 weeks it looked pretty damn good

If that happened Rooey would have just moved up the ground taking the defender out of it. I understand the point you making but unfortunatly its all or nothing with the zone.

The obvious candidate would have been Frost. His only asset is his athleticism, so why not use it.

Harmes looked really flat on the weekend so I'd like him to have a week at Casey so he can build up some form. I still very see him as a key part of our future. Salem varies on whether he recovers from his hit with Viney on the weekend. ANB certainly deserves his chance after several consistent weeks at Casey. Oliver is an automatic in if he's fit and good to go.

Hunt gets another crack in my opinion. Has made the odd mistake here and there but I love watching him trying to take the game on with his scintillating pace. He will only get better. 

I reckon one more week for Trengove in the VFL as well (mainly out of selfishness as I want to see him return on the MCG!)

Players in 2016 need to be flexible.  Also, he played all of his footy at GWS in the backline, so it's not a foreign position.  In fact, he's played more AFL footy back than forward.

For structural purposes they want him forward, but it's silly to suggest he can't be moved back in 2016.  He can and he may.

Also...

Dunn was poor.  Slow to react, slow to read the play, gave away frees and can't bend over to pickup a ball below his knees.
