Reckon if 3 players absolutely smash the door down then they'll be in the team next week. If nothing else we need fresh legs next week, today was inexcusable.

Think we'll find Brayshaw will play at least a couple of games in the two's.

Agree on the other 4, but it's our defence that needs strengthening. Grimes and Garland anyone?

can't say grimes and garland really excite me

the backline were abysmal, but to me the error was the defensive game plan. playing consistently 20m away from your opposite number in some strange version of zone defense and at the same time positioning yourselves so far up the ground was suicide, made worse by the failure to change tactics especially in the 2nd qtr when it became obvious that this structure was failing and being exploited. The backline started to resemble witches hats but still they refused to man up and cover.

Goal to Hullett 3.3 to 1.0. Brayshaw concussed by the ball hitting him in the face from an ANB kick.

ANB really wants to make the seniors

ANB should come in next week regardless. Kid has been killing it for Casey but can't get a game.

Also pleeeeaaaase can we drop Lumumba and bring in an actual defender? Garland, Grimes, it's time to shine!

Your kidding...Grimes, Garland- defenders....your judgement has not changed in 5 years...they are pathetic defenders, worse than H.

play both Grimes and Garland on the wings.Give Frost a chance at playing FB or CHB.

Is Brayshaw actually concussed? Off the ground? Done for the day?

Broadcast on Essendon VFL Radio

Brayshaw was taken to the rooms... still not sure if he will come back on. Oliver doing quite well. ANB, Michie and Garland getting regular possessions. Windy Hill is windy and wet.

Brayshaw now out of rooms but still can't walk without support.

They need to put him on ice. He's already had a concussion a few weeks ago and not looked the same since. Time to give him a week or two off to get right.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
