Reminds me of the famous Ali v Sonny Liston photo.

GO DEES!

While i love the shot of Viney, The snapshot of Watts on the ground just laying there as if he has been shot dead is a haunting..

Use to respect Rance but you are an absolute coward!

Viney is a dead set beast... Never seen a Melbourne player attack the footy like he does. He is a bull at a gate. Fast becoming my favorite player.. He'll never have the sublime skills of an elite midfielder but he knows this and plays within his limitations... I knew he'd take the next step this year, quickly becoming an A grader. Love how he flies the flag, last week when Toovey pushed Tyson into the post he was first in their. Absolutely love jack, one player you'd want to go to war with!

Actually his skills are really good and only getting better.

I think you're the only one mentioning limitations. I don't see any and I bet you nor does he.

You think like a loser, not uncommon for a Melbourne fan

Yeah, the shot could do with some cropping. What would have been really heartening would have been to see Watts get up and put Rance on his backside. Still, he probably did the professional thing and went back and kicked the goal.

Anyone see the open mike with Simon black last week?  Very reminiscent of the Mick Martin hit in the 99 prelim that fractured Blacks eye socket.

Dog act. Hope the MRP go hard and set a precedent.

He tried to fight back the second time and Viney just dumped him again.

Alex Rance deserves 4 weeks for the coward hit on Watts and another 10 weeks for being a Jehovahs witness

I think Prince was the only decent one.

still weird, but

I have joined the Flying Spaghetti Monster faith and we don't mind other religions so long as our right to wear a colander on our heads is not under threat.I combine it with some Rastafarianism of course, and the occasional bit of Voodoo.

Can accept two matches.

Season over.

Honestly think it should be double this, like Conca before, this was just a cowardly assault from behind. Any penalty for hitting a player from behind, like in these two instances, should see an automatic doubling of any penalty.

Just watched replay again and after Watts had kicked the goal, Rance went out of his way to bump Watts as he was heading the bench. What a total and utter floggsy, hiding behind some good guy churchie act.

Substitute Jehovas witness for Muslim, Catholic or Jew and see the confected outrage.

Maybe there aren't many JW's to complain....

I think he acknowledges it in his comments here post match.

“A lot of my possessions didn’t come off today, but we followed up and that’s why I love it. It puts you in the contest, makes it exciting and we end up scoring.”

Righto mate... Never said he had poor skills just his not elite by foot.. Yet

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
