Just checked in on the trip home at Narita Airport, Tokyo where the Qantas counter is manned by Japan Airlines staff all decked out to greet me wearing red and blue.

Great work Dees.  [censored] fantastic.  Confidence is such an important thing.  Its SO important we get this.  These boys are playing for one another.  I haven't seen that for so long in a Melbourne side.  We had to win that game and we did.  The players realised this and went out and did it.  You little beauty!

Coming home at just the right time Jack.

What a solid win against the old enemy. I couldn't watch live or listen as i had a stack of business work to do before my own trip OS so i recorded and soaked it up in my own time with benefit of no ads.

Great stuff boys. Let's hope we can keep that form going from here. Tigers next.

Must back it up next to week, but yes was a superb all round game. Just gotta iron out some of those turnovers and get the younger kids fitness up to allow the high intensity pressure we saw in the first quarter for the entire game.

I'm quietly happy.
Today was a good, workmanlike four quarter effort. We set the win up early and proceeded to hold them at arms length for the rest of the day.
Most of what I wanted was ticked off today.
Good aggressive start which was mostly maintained through the match.
It's also good to see that most of the boys viewed the win  the way I did too. There was a bit of happiness but nothing too overboard.
Plus, they didn't send our skinniest kid to Cloke to be mauled (though by the looks of things, Clokey isn't capable of mauling anyone these days).
Next week will be telling. I hope that Essendon game is tattooed onto the group's frontal lobe, never to be forgotten. Also, talk of 'two wins in a row coming up' needs to be banned and anyone who does so has to spend a week locked a room that is rigged with one of those traps designed by the Jigsaw Killer.

I think we have a team on our hands,it's early days but the dark days look over.

They were playing electronica when Christopher Hitchens got waterboarded and when the US government was torturing people in Gitmo, they played 'Born in the USA' on a repeating loop so those options may be more effective.

I would kill for such discipline.  I would be wealthy.  I'd have a body like Usain Bolt (a white one).  And I wouldn't frighten my little children when I watch Melbourne.  Hats off to ya Rusty.

Yes we made mistakes but that's part of playing this style of footy particularly with a young team as we tire late in quarters. Probably the most important thing is that we sensed when momentum was changing and reacted accordingly. 

Watts was massive and Wagner showed he can seriously play. 

A game that we can really build our season on. 

We also played four quarters of footy. It's a nice change!
