Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

He should have said "we will let the opposition cruise to huge lead and then try to come back from there".

Last year, teams who faced a week of media scrutiny before playing against us came out firing (and we lost, probably expecting an easy win.)

We better prepare for Colonwood's best because they've seriously underperformed so far this year. If they actually put in the effort they could be a scarily good team. We better not take anything lightly, least of all after round 2's debacle.

Personally, I think Collingwood will win. They're massively underpforming atm and will explode any moment now. Could be as soon as this week.

If they do win this weekend, we will have lost three "away" games in a row. I wonder if we would have done any better if a couple of them had been "home" games?

Sorry but I think Collingwood are shizen. Unfortunately we can be as well but have shown we can play good footy.

We need Viney or VDB to put some serious hurt on Pendles' ribcage within the first few minutes. Keeping him clear of the contest will go a long way to securing the victory.

Haven't had a chance to check the sides?  VDB isn't playing.

Evidently not! He has been pretty quiet, not surprised he's been dropped. I hope he can force his way back into the middle of the ground, he's not a forward I don't think.

If he becomes the second James Magner I'll be really disappointed.

Now in your day Barrie old Norm would never ever allow complacency, especially against Essendon or Collingwood, would he.  I imagine if any player did appear to take a opposition lightly he would spend a long time in the seconds.

You may be one-eyed, Mono.  But, you still have 20-20 vision!

I REALLY want our boys to come out this Sunday, all guns blazing!  Take no prisoners!

As I continually like to remind people...there's two things that bring me joy.  One is Melb winning.  The other is Collingwood losing!  When both things happen in the same match I'm absolutely over the moon!

I am EXPECTING good things this Sunday!!  Who cares if it's against the opposition's best or their worst?  Just get the job done...!!!

Yep I don't think they've under-performed, I think they've been massively over-rated. Sure Treloar has been a fantastic pick up for them but Aish is still unproven at senior level and Howe is massively over-rated as we well know. They've got some older players still slowing down, some younger players still not quite there and with Swan and Elliott out for extended periods this year I can't see them finishing any better than last year let alone making finals.

We should take care of them comfortably (similar to last years win against them) but we all know what should happen and what does with Melbourne rarely coincides.

Jennings joins Melbourne in new role

MELBOURNE has appointed former Bulldogs opposition analyst Craig Jennings to the newly-created position of game analyst and education coordinator.

Manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said Jennings’ appointment was “another step towards building the best learning environment we can for our players”.

“Craig’s appointment is very important to delivering the football educational component of our program. He has experience working at Swinburne University and presented internationally on education and learning,” he toldmelbournefc.com.au.

“He also has extensive experience at AFL level in game analysis, working at Essendon for 10 years and more recently, he spent 2015 with the Western Bulldogs. We believe that Craig’s experiences in both AFL and education made him perfectly qualified for this newly created role.

“Throughout the year we started to introduce a number of changes to the way the coaches delivered information to the players, which had positive feedback from the players and tangible outcomes on game day.

“We will be making some further changes next season to continue creating the best learning environment for our players and ensuring their development.”

Mahoney said Jennings had previously worked with Simon Goodwin and Brendan McCartney.

“Craig has worked with a number of senior coaches throughout his time and built a strong relationship with Simon Goodwin and Brendan McCartney whilst at Essendon, we look forward to him making a large contribution to the Melbourne Football Club,” he said.

Before his time at Essendon and the Bulldogs, Jennings spent nine years with Swinburne University.

He also has a master of management in sports management, a post graduate certificate in teaching and learning (higher education) and an AFL executive certificate in football operations and list management.

Hopefully when the club says they are preparing for Collingwoods best they are. If we had prepared for essendons best we either underestimated their best or just didn't prepare.........

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
