Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tyson - continues to underperform

Oliver - impressive despite inexperience

Dunn - held his own

Stretch - some important touches

Kent - great opportunist's game

Frost - regularly appeared lost

McDonald - reliable and steady

Bugg - unsure of role

Kennedy - had little impact

vandenBerg - some random performances

Jetta - wonderful attacking defender

Wagner - out of depth

Yep Wagner may be dropped.

Kennedy interesting compared to last weeks effort.

Frost was definately lost.

Bugg...hard to say as stat wise he performed but I didnt seem to notice him

M Jones...sometimes better but still the occasional horror kicks

Pretty good joeboy - the only two I disagree with are Tyson and Harmes.  I thought they were a little better than you gave them credit for, particularly Tyson.  Had it 20 times, 11 contested, 5 clearances and a great goal.

And Harmes tackled like his life depended on it

Watts - learn to mark

Dunn - makes defence better

Vince - stop polishing elbows

M Jones / N Jones - look before kicking

Anyone - stand near Harvey

Watts payed well in my view. Three good goals and at least two effective goal assists. Only downside was attempting to pass to Hogan at a critical time.

Stretch was a butcher today, Frost a spud, Hogan a tease. Hopefully the team is as livid as I am with that result.

I hate honourable losses, but after last week's effort, I was expecting a 10 goal drubbing. After being 7 goals to nil down in the 1st, the players showed some fortitude, and didn't drop their bundle. Even at half time, I thought that North would kick away again.

We didn't win, but our contested possession against a hard nosed team was a huge plus. I'm not even close to being livid compared to last week.

Hard at it and very composed in traffic. Was a solid game from Jack but I can't believe he didn't have a shot. Best shot at goal in the side by a fair way - should be lining up for those.

I agree that Tyson was poor.  16 of his 20 disposals were handballs, but he still had 5 clangers. Disposed of it then stood or walked.  1 tackle.

Went missing in the last quarter.

Clayton Oliver has outperformed him in every game, Dom is consistently one of our worst ranked midfielders and is currently a Supercoach spud.  I hope Roos has the balls to make an advantage of him one of these days.

Love Jetta... I don't know how he manages it, but he just gets the job done.

Thought that Tyson was good. Wagner showed some poise in his first game. Less enthused than you by Dunny.

Agree with most of the rest.

Watts - important score involvements

I'm having a crack at this....

N.Jones - well held early

Vince - has pointy elbows

Hogan - looked much happier

Salem - some good signs

Watts - played with passion

Viney - captain in waiting

Lumumba - gives me goosebumps

Gawn - king of rucks

Tyson - looked heaps better

Oliver - makes me hard

Dunn - welcome back son

Stretch - quick but indecisive

Kent - goals redeemed errors

Frost - not sure really

McDonald - strong down back

Bugg - got some cnut

Kennedy - quiet at times

vandenBerg - lacking some polish

Jetta - rebounded really well

Wagner - another week please

Harmes - loves a tackle

M.Jones - not the worst

Rubbish! Tyson was not poor. Look how we dominated the clearances. Sure, he missed a couple of targets, but some of his handball was aggressive and brilliant. To say nothing of a great goal.

He was bound to hit one eventually after missing all 3 last week.

He's not even B grade in 2016 so far.  An avg of 77 supercoach points is very ordinary for a midfielder.  Like I said, 18 y.o Oliver is already in front of him in the pecking order.

Yep, my three word summary for Watts would be TAKE THE SHOT. I suspect he will be told that. But the mark was a ripper, he actually looked pretty good streaming out of the goal square and kicked 3. Is on track for a 40 odd goal season.

When you are using Supercoach points to assess a player's impact you know you are using a flawed system.

Ever thought that you don't see the work he does in centre bounces, stoppages etc, Oliver gets his hands on the ball because Tyson is blocking for him

You do watch the game?

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
