To those who were waiting until todays game  to decide whether to renew or not, I applaud you for using common sense.

I'm getting in first. This is the worst defeat in ten years ! Worse even than the demolition job the Cats did on us At Skilled Stadium in the Bailey years.

We were and are  PUTRID! Too many players far too easily pleased! Chuffed we were about last week! Yeah that was our equivalent of winning a Premiership!

Let this sink in! We lost to a team of Top ups! What a absolute disgrace we are, Can we possibly get some players that actually will Bleed for the jumper!??

Poor coaching and poor selections contribute. You reap what yiou sow! The embarrasment I feel is is palpable!

Congratulations Demons, it's taken us all of 2 weeks to be the butt of everone's jokes, yet again. Fine effort

Same players that beat us last time: Goddard, Daniher, Baguley, Zacharakis!

We learnt nothing!

Joke of a decision not to play Dunn. Seriously  15 [...] marks to Daniher and they decide to leave our most experienced tall defender out for Lamumba

I don't know if I want a hug or to punch a hole in the wall.

God damn supporting this club is hard work. That was just so disappointing.

The MFC ethos - Tip the team, but back the opposition... 120 clams is a small consolation.

What the heck is going on with Jesse Hogan? lazy, sooky, not leading, he is not even close to the player he was last year.

I don't even know what to say about that performance.  I really thought the players would see it as a terrific opportunity to smash a team and go 2-0 to start the season.

And we serve up rubbish.  I'm laying the blame solely at the feet of the players today.  They didn't run hard, no appetite for the contest and allowed them to do as they pleased.  I continually thought the players would take some responsibility at each break and look to make amends.  We did so briefly in the last... and then we fell over and completely lost the plot.

I'm positive at the best of times but I can't take anything out of that game.  Nothing.  Maybe Kennedy was a positive.  Vince and Jones had a dip.  But outside of that the only word that comes to mind was 'putrid'.

BenKen was the only guy I saw that put in a 4 quarter effort.

They chipped the ball all day and we did nothing to stop it.

Ross' inability to change the gameplan.

Forward delivery was bomb it long to Hogan and pray, even though he was double/triple teamed.

Disgraceful disposals and turnovers. Kicking for goal wasnt much better.

We had guys jogging when the game was on the line. Its the 2nd round.

Could go on forever. A embarrassing loss to say the least.

Today's performance stunk worse than one of my dog's turds.

Most if not all of their goals came from our turnovers..... let that sink in.

According to the AFL match feed:

All of Essendon's goals have come from intercept possessions in this match.

Essendon, with their bunch of washed up Grandpas and kids, had 128 more possessions and 16 more tackles than us. So much for a team full of 'competitors'.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
