can we go for him in stead

What we don't need on here i another messiah addition to distract the club

If White is pick 30 or so and has what we need don't pick him because of his name please?

Pick 26 was pretty good for Jack Viney.

I see similar in Kalani to Jack, in so far as he has grown up loving the club, wants it to succeed and being mentored by one of it's greats. I know Taylor and Co do highly value attitude over talent and I think Kalani has alot going for him in this respects.

Similarly, I don't think we should undervalue father son players being invested in the club, as opposed to being just the first team that drafted them out of the U18s.

The draft can be something of a lottery anyway.

First time poster, long time lurker. Bumped into a Dees recruiter after the game today. Said Kalani is basically a lock and has verbally agreed with the club. Take with a pinch of salt, just passing on what I was told.

Also said we're heavily into Mitch Marsh this year. Room for another Bison?

if i take it with a pinch of salt, can i take it as gospel?

we'll need a first round pick for mitch marsh, i suspect

The whole qld academy access for father sons is an absolute farce. Just reading luke Hodge's kid is part of Brisbane lions academy. Can't imagine hime going anywhere other than Hawthorn, just like Kalani shouldn't be anywhere else but the dees.

Thought the academies were about growing the game to people and areas that aren't traditional... as opposed to hoarding players that are destined regardless

the word is that hodge's son is more likely to pick the bears than dingley

which is sad, imo

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
