Is Liam Hulett a smokey this year? Has hardly played footy in the TAC system and if there is a playing he reminds you please go ahead and explain!

I think Hulett still needs to build a bit more of a fitness base before he gets a call up to the 1's. You can't deny his work rate as it was high but there were a few times during the match simulation when I thought he really looked like he was struggling. He could just have an awkward running style but too me he just didn't seem to have the tank. However I have no doubt that he will get there.

It doesn't have to become a big thing but I am of the view that the Viney tackle was over the line. It was arms pinned and slammed on a shoulder. Better to save those ones for game day.

But I'm also of the opinion that Tom McDonald needs to sharpen up or he'll become a liability. He's still too indecisive with the ball and not up to scratch with his kicking. Maybe a few Viney tackles will sharpen him up.

I loved the little push and shove they had after, which was quickly defused by team mates.

Viney should definitely not save those tackles for game day either, as it sounds like a 3 week suspension!

Great reports lads i just jave a few questions.

How is Sam Weideman going?

Is Liam Hulett a smokey this year? Has hardly played footy in the TAC system and if there is a playing he reminds you please go ahead and explain!

Seems like it could be Viv Michie or Wagner to replace Melksham? Whos your pick?

Massive rap for ANB.. how he tracking along?

Thanks legends

Weideman is a nice size and shape, moves, marks and kicks smoothly but I haven't seen him involved much in the match simulation.

Hulett is a bit the same, he did the 9-7 stuff and got involved a few times but not nearly as much as others, no mistakes. I think his issue will be his tank.

I was impressed by both, and am still a White fan, although he was a bit fumbly today. I expect the half backs to be closer to a spot in the team than Viv, but if he's covering the ground well he could be picked. All 3 should be heavily involved in the NAB challenge.

ANB covered the ground really well, he kicks nicely when clear in space, his main weakness at this stage would be bombing it when under pressure. I'm keen to see how his tackling and disposal holds up in match day situations. On work rate and reading the play I think he's well placed and he's got the physique to stand up at AFL level.

Whilst most players stood on the sidelines waiting for their turn, Hoges found a nice seat on a pile of bump bags under a bit of shade. Macca had a few words for him that I don't exactly remember but it was rather entertaining. He's a character for sure.

It looked a bit more like this, "Tony, Tarkyn how are we guys? Now you've been over here hiding in these shadows for about halfa now and Goody is yet to notice you but mark my words once he does I don't think you'll want to be around so I think it might be best if you just left quietly and we'll pretend this never happened. Ok thanks guys, see you in April."

This worries me ... Hogan's jumper looks a lot more purple then the others ... more "Docker" purple ... and why's he the only one wearing zinc cream ... only place I can think of where you need zinc cream is WA or Qld.

We need to get our nicknames right. Surely 'truck' should be used for Petracca and 'van' for VandenBerg.

And I'll accept Mack Truck for the two McDonalds.

X-tractor,  DeeBorg,  &  BigMc & JnrMc,  Bull Brayshaw,  'clark' Kent,  Hopper Hogan,  'Mack' Gawn,  'flick' Tyson,  'thorny' Bugg,

But I'm guessing while you're disappointed you'd rather they did it at a time and place that was best for the team.

best for the club,  is to look out for its patrons...   thats all she wrote,  before she started to sing.

without the patrons there would be no club.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
