We would have easily cracked 45,000 if we made finals this year. I reckon 42,000 next year if we get off to a good start.

Yep that Carlscum performance cost the club a lot of $$$ over the off season...

Here are the final 2016 figures from the AFL http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-2016-membership-up-but-crowds-down-20160825-gr1b52.html

Just goes to show how finals have helped North and Bulldogs. Our turn next year  Massive effort by the Saints.

Great result by us to break our previous record but we have slipped right down the Membership ladder.

Massive effort from Dees supporters needed next year.

Anyone like to hazard a guess as to where we might end up?

Richmond haven't won a flag since 1980 and still crack 70k membership. We will always be well below the others unless we start winning flags and even then it takes a long time before the supporter base catches up. You must have sustained success and you need players that the kids look up to, players like Max and Hogan, recognisable  players that the kids want to be like.

The pity is that the numbers themselves mean nothing.

We are all aware that the Hawthorn "tasmanian" membership is the only way locals can get into the ground at Launceston due to the small size.  North and the Bulldogs are handing out 3 game memberships to schoolkids and anyones name they purloin.  Collingwood has 75K members but can only get 17K to turn up to a game?

The only number that matters is membership dollars.

WTF norf 245,014 members

My 6year old daughter got a 3 game family membership through the school from norf. That's 4 extra memberships in the total that are bogus. I just used the tickets to see them play the tiggers and the swannies at Bellerive oval. (My son and I used our MFC membership for the other game where the maggots crucified us)

Collingwood and Hawthorn also include pet members in their final tally according to my friend who works at Carlton.

Good start! Let's aim to double it by the end of the Trade Period and Triple it by the end of the NAB Challenge (which we should aim to win)!

It is a myth, officially tallies absolutely do not include 'pet memberships'.

Not too shabby, especially considering premium membership numbers haven't rolled over yet.

I'm on automatic, it comes off my credit card, as I assume are the vast majority of the 18000 renewals.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
