Just for the record, the cut-off date is July 31 so 2 months to go.  Point #8 on the enclosesd:  https://membership.melbournefc.com.au/terms-and-conditions

Agreed!  In addition to Pies we then have home games vs GC, Crows and Hawks so some good value games to choose from with a 3 game membership.

Plenty of opportunity to get to the 40,000!  It would be great for PJ to go to sponsors with that number especially as our main sponsorship (AHG) is up for renewal this year

I wonder how much value from a sponsorship point of view members really are? I would have thought the real value is eyeballs watching games, particularly on TV. If we want to grow sponsorship dollars I suspect we need more games on free-to-air TV and on premium timeslots (ie, Friday and Saturday nights). That's not to say members are not important - I'm just not sure the actual number of members is necessarily relevant to sponsorship discussions.

Membership numbers are huge for sponsors- it gives them access to a database to direct market to via email/post.

Your poor old Uncle Bitter may have to accept some responsibility in this matter. The old flatulence problem flared up with the local food.

The laundryman used long wooden tongs to handle Uncle's underwear. Quite embarrassing

Look where they are on the ladder, plus their past 2 years. The fact they haven't cracked 40,000 after such improvement says a lot.

We'll crack 40k before them, next year will be when it happens. We start playing finals and we'll crack 45k.

You can still take an International Membership, just to support the club, or you can take International membership which includes the rights to watch the matches online through the Watchafl site (which is what I do ...)

I already have a reserved seat membership and an AFL Global Pass. I wish I'd thought about it before I left. Still my sons are probably sitting in my seat now and then so not all is lost. I'll be back for a few weeks soon so maybe I'll get to at least one game.

Anyone else get an email from the club addressed to their kids where they can "sign up a Demon buddy" for the remainder of the 2016 season for free?

There's a form to complete online (link in email), if you know any kids under 15 you can sign them up if you have a kids membership  (need to put in referring member number) as long as they haven't been a member before. Assuming these all add up to the final tally even if given out for free.

Yeah I got a call from the club asking if I'd be happy to donate the kids membership attached to my membership for this year. This must be where it went!

They were well behind us earlier in the year, pretty good effort to get where they are now even considering their on field performances.

Have to say these numbers mean nothing.  Western Bulldogs sent a message to every Auskicker and Junior Player in the Western Region offering free tickets to the West Coast game.  I decide get these as I have family playing at West Coast.  All of the sudden I get a membership welcome e-mail from the Western Bulldogs and so now I'm now a member of the Bulldogs.  I bet the Bulldogs had a massive jump in membership numbers around the West Coast Game

probably find you are just a "fraternity member" rather than a paid up official member

Winning games and being right in the mix for finals contention will always do wonders for membership numbers.  Especially when you do it 2 years in a row.

Nah full member, they have already sent me a renewal notice for 2017, order now to go into a draw for free membership.

Pretty disappointed I missed out on my ticket allocation to the Round 18 game over here vs West Coast. Will downgrade memberships next season to an armchair me thinks.

It was.

Surely there's not that many members of here and the club could push for a slightly bigger allocation.

interesting, drd. have they sent you a membership card? does sound dodgy if it is aimed at inflating numbers

i got a free dogs ticket last year to our away game at darklands. they put me on their club news email list (until i unsubscribed) and sent me  2016 membership marketing but i never got the impression i was somehow a member.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
