Tbh with Prestia going under the knife again, it seems more likely he'll stay at GC.

GC wants to keep the nature of the injury silent so they get more for him.

Prestia wants to keep it silent so he gets more of he leaves.

Stay clear imo.

If I were GCS, I would trade gablett,  & keep Prestia & offer him the captaincy.

How would Gaz go at the MFC for the next three?

Now we're talking!!!

FF: Gartlett   Hogan   Ablett

Trading Ablett would be the best thing Gold Coast could have ever done... 2 years ago.

Now though? Nobody will a) pay for him with draft picks and b) pay his massive salary, to make turfing him out worthwhile. Just imagine what they would've gotten 2 years ago, not to mention the salary cap space.

romance would suggest he should finish, down at Cat-land.

More like Viney lays a bone crunching tackle on Dangerfield, holding the ball. Viney goes back and slots it (Lead out to 94 points). Viney then goes up to Selwood and lets him know all about it, who goes down in history as the first player to get pinged for staging for a free kick. Not content with giving just the free, Selwood's continued sooking is rewarded with 50 meters. Jack dobs it after the siren to bring up the tonne. Unable to allay Selwood's and Dangerfield's tears, Scott seeks out the Geelong doctor to have his jaw put back in, after he dislocates it from his standard continual mouth gaping performance.

It's a grand old flag indeed :)

Prestia and Jeagerbomb could have had a chance to audition  for us. Sad

I believe 2metre Peter will rip us a new orifice.

Saints should have got this guy over McCartin if they wanted a goal kicking unit.

The pair have hardly been able to audition for anyone over the past two seasons because they've been out injured most of the time.

All that considered they come with very high price tags. Is taking one of them worth the risk?

It is s risk.

It's a pity, because O'Meara is probably the best young midfielder I've ever seen.

If GAJ was to go elsewhere I would think GCS would pay for a fair chunk of his contact, maybe half.

I think in the position we are, in it is too big of a risk.

We would pay heavily for either in a trade and then in ongoing salary. If they performed badly,  it could be a disaster for us, both on and off the field.

To be honest, I would rather see Hogan and T Mac signed for a few more years and go with a recruiting manager who has proven he can spot talent and get another good kid or two in the draft. Silly as this sounds, you would get more from ANB, Newton or Michie, than an injured or NQR, Prestia or O'Meara. Both have had serious injuries and after two years are still not right.

Look at JT as an example. After two years injured, this highly regarded player is struggling. We don't need another.

There are other players out there, maybe not as good, but who are fit and can play, like Crouch for example, that you might be better making a play for, than these two. I just have a bad feeling about both of them. Also we could probably use a good key Defender and another back up ruckman/forward, more.

I also am not keen on Hibberd who I see as limited, especially with Salem and Melksham to return and with Hunt and Warner developing. He would cost us our first live pick and then we are at the arse end of the draft.

Looks like Dion is tiger bound. Good luck to him. Hope he enjoys being down the [censored] hole for another couple more years. Honestly your better off staying at GC then playing for a puss side like Richmond.

Emma Q is usually spot on.

Interesting that Rich gave up their 2016 rnd 2 draft last year.  Looks expensive now that they are near bottom of the ladder.  More so as Yarran hasn't played a game for them yet!   If they give their 2016 1st rnd for Prestia they are in a world of pain with their rebuild.  They will be lucky to get 2nd (pick 25+) or 3rd rnd picks for their players = Average players out, Average players in!

Think they will be my tip for the 2017 wooden spoon!

This is guaranteed to be a failure for both parties.

Can't see Prestia going to Richmond either. Carlton? Maybe. But I reckon he'll come home. ;)

Time to wake up from the dream mate. Emma Q is usually very accurate with this kind of stuff and all the noise seem to point towards Richmond.

His knees are a worry for me and i think we have gone cold on him with someone else in mind.

Nah, the dream's still on. :P

It's all about the coin.  Prestia knows he is probably on borrowed time with his knees and Richmond will be throwing panic cash his way, and good on him if he takes it.  Sets him up for the future.

We are obviously focused on getting Hibberd into the club, and no doubt we have our eyes on others as well.

Prestia isn't the answer for Richmond, though.  Recruiting him makes little sense to me.

Very little sense. Not only will they give up a 1st rounder for Prestia but this year's 2nd rounder was alreadg used for Yarran.

They are just better off going into the draft and rebuilding freshly with more young talent.

They are set for more long term pain.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
