Or get a life.

hey dazzle, your on here more hours per day than I am. I'm up late, & then go fishing late after dark. sometimes all nighters. get up late, of late.

so I only reply to others postings,. if you weren't so critical of others, you would be happier, i feel sure.

In another thread it was noted that Ess are interested in Dawes. So maybe he is part of the Melksham trade eg our 3rd rnd pick + Dawes for Melksham.

It is hypothetical but I would do that deal in a flash!

Much better than giving up our 2nd rnd, we move him while we have the chance (very hard to do when he is OOC next year) and we free up salary cap. Win/win.

I'd spew if we gave up anything more than a pick for Melksham, who clearly wants to come here.

Dawes might be a touch on the spud side, I do think he is nevertheless underrated on here,

My kids call him flat hands!

Brisbane list manager just said they haven't spoken to us about Dawes, not interested

Cant blame them. Will be shocked if any team wants him

Work with a guy who studies law with Dawes. Asked him directly last night if he was going to be traded.

Dawes played a straight bat but my mate was left with the impression he may be off to Carltank.

How does Dawes playing a straight bat give your mate the impression he's going to Carlton? Did your mate list every club, and Dawes gave a different facial expression when Carlton came up?

Didn't ask the details mate. Was told 2nd hand about the conversation by another work colleague. Then messaged my mate on our internal messenger about it as he's in a building on the other side of William St. All he sent back to me was that Dawes wasn't giving much away but he reckons he might be off to the blues.

That would be wonderful on both fronts.

Can we get the pick they get for Henderson, or Yarran or even Bell.

I was thinking 3rd rounder or as you said, maybe the pick they get for Bell?

Bell heading home to Brisbane for personal reasons according to SEN this arvo.

My mate and I have used the term 'concrete hands' when referring to Dawes. The way he places his hands looks so awkward, i dont know how he would take a mark

But what did the cleaner in the William St. building say? Did he see a scrunched up bit of paper with a Carlton letterhead in Dawes recycle box?

Trap Dawes.

The article writes itself.

Because there's no way out for either player or club.

He should take up photography lessons next year from my man Mitch.

Trap Dawes....

I like it.

"Well tell him to get off it before he breaks his neck, doesn't he realise we serve food off of it!"

'Boom Tish'

Just in relation to Dawes, listening to Mahoney when asked about Dawes on Trade Radio he seemed a little peeved in the fact that Dawes along with a few other players names were mentioned in meetings and all of a sudden he now has to respond to all the names as if they were all leaving or being traded. I reckon he is [censored] about leaks from other clubs or agents. If it's from within MFC I reckon he would be livid. He also seemed to allude to players names are always raised by clubs within their initial meetings and that's par for course at this time and you can't really read to much into it.

I wouldn't be bothered too much with the possibility of Dawes leaving because he would need to be agreeable to it in the first place as he is contracted. But if he and Hogan can get some synergy going up forward I reckon it would be great for the club.

Unless Pedersen and Frost are injured again, I don't see room for Dawes in the team next year. I think he would be agreeable to a trade if he was told "either go to team x or play for Casey". He will never be a good player for us. Having a key forward that can't take a mark is as useful as having a screen door on a submarine.

Cleaners name is Sarpreet, so i'll ask him when i get into work today. Think he's more of a cricket fan then AFL from memory though.

If Carlton rumours are true they would be less likely to part with a useful pick given their desire to rebuild via the draft. 4th or 5th round is all they would pay.

He probably has more value on our list for another year as backup than getting a 4th rounder. Unless we could nab another Jeff Garlett with that type of pick.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
