Really really impressed with Stretch. Has been good the last month but really took it to another level today. Loved him on the wing, and is a lot stronger than his frame suggests.

Good kick, good speed, nice hands. A big fan. Definitely didn't think we'll see much of him this year, and have been pleasantly surprise. A nice F/S pick up!

4 - Salem ( smooth as silk and classy disposal )

3 - Gawn ( dominated the centre bounces as he should )

2 - Hogan ( gave the team confidence with his ruthless attack on the ball )

Apologies to T.McDonald and to Brayshaw for a great second half

Can't believe so few votes for Hogan. More than anyone else, he was the difference. Just having him there as a target changes how the mids play, and how the ball comes into the forward line.

You should have ranked him above the three mids!

I didn't attend the game and only watched the replay last night, so I will not cast votes. However, I am surprised that Howe hasn't scored a vote as yet. Thought he played a good game but, admittedly, there are a few you could raffle for the last one or two in a given selection of six.

I gather you don't think Hogan has a future.

At least 10 players worthy of votes compared to 3-4 of previous three weeks.

6 Gawn - yes I know he was rucking against a no-name kid, but how good was his service. We were spanked in middle last time in Rd 2. Not this time.

5 Viney - every week i enjoy reading the pressure acts column and he's way above everyone else. In the third term when we won it, he was everywhere.

4 T.Mac - Almost back to his early season best. Beat Cameron and still provided run from defence.

3 Jones - How good was his kicking. I can't believe the tossers that question this area. He's the best pass in the side.

2 Salem - As I've said for some time now - we need his left foot down back. The most crucial player in team aside from Gawn and Hogan. At least now we have another option in White.

1 Hogan - He was on from the start and seemed to love all the Inside 50m entries that happen when you are playing a glorified exhibition game.

Why no Vince and Cross.

Vince - He was very good but his direct opponent Ward was clearly the best GWS player.

Cross - Even he can't remember anything he did!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
