If I recall correctly, when JKH was drafted I believe he was praised for his work ethic. Isn't this also what Roos was saying when he picked him to play at the beginning of last season?

What evidence is there that he has a "very suspect work ethic"?

Has exceeded expectation already and will be better when he slows down a touch, yes slows down.

But Dawes has barely put in one good game this year, he passed as serviceable as second ruck/forward last week but this week was found out for his lack of.....well anything. If his role is forward/second ruck then I reckon we'd get just as much, possibly more from Jamar. Jamar has also had good Casey form and would be a just reward for his effort. IMO we'd get a better ruck, and a just as competent forward.

Agree 100% with everyone that Dawes output all year does not warrant his salary, senior member status, nor possibly a permanent spot in the team. The only value Dawes has really provided is a link up man when we move it through the centre at speed. That's about it. I seem him as being in the same ball park as Grimes, who's been forced to improve his game before earning a spot.

One thing you can be confident about Jamar - he does know how to clunk a mark in the forward line, although I wonder if he has the athleticism to lead up all game. Surely it's time to find out if he has another year in him.

INNS

RILEY ( Gunna be wet, need strong in an under)

WHITE ( Elevate to Senior List) Elite Kicking and reader of play)

HUNT ( For Pace)

OUTS

STRETCH ( Needs a spell)

HARMES ( Not enough last week)

MICHIE ( Not productive enough)

Might be tempted to also play ANB

Mc Donald to backline, If Howe plays must play forward!

That's it

So was Dawes and we know how good he is.

Better than he has shown, and good enough to play a role in our resurgence?

Happy to be Robison Crusoe on this.

It's lonely, though...

We played about a quarter against this mob last time and only lost by 4 goals. Play 4 quarters and we should win.

4 quarters of what kind of football?? The essendon game or the geelong game

I'm no fan, but Grimes was our second best player last week.

How about someone post some changes without unfounded bias?

Gawn was our best and Viney second best. Grimes kept turning it over.

From the bit I saw Hogan was much worse than Dawes, petulant, abusing team mates, and when he had it could generally not kick the ball over a jam tin, I guess people believe what they want to believe, 7 disposals is not a bag, and is miserly compared to Dawes 17 touches, would not be surprised if his lack of effort he found himself at Casey, needs to pull his big head in.

Just Stretch out for ANB.

Good lord. Dawes must have incriminating photos at his disposal.

Drop the rookie, not the soft as butter experienced players who, again, are allowed to completely lack accountability.

Collingwood are trying to expose us by dropping Jesse White. It will be interesting to see how our tall backline goes.

McDonald forward, Dunn on resting ruck and Garland on small forward/mid doesn't sound too bad to me.

I don't mind how we match up on paper.

Hnmm starting to question the integrity of selections!

Hnmm Riley better than Michie, Roll the dice Upgrade White and Hunt and "Blood" for the future!

Too much "Dead Wood" still getting games!

Also some players must be wondering "What do I have to do to get a game"

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
