Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Besides Gawn, Hogan and Brayshaw, there's absolutely nothing that gives me hope for this team.

Lumumba is a waste of space and money.

Watts has restored order and drifted back into insignificance.

Tyson hasn't fired a shot this year.

Surely Jones starts to get disheartened now.

Garland needs a change of scenery.

Dawes - see Lumumba.

Roos, thank you but don't worry about the 3rd season mate.

Bad call, mate. Watts was best on ground in the first half. As for Tyson, he had an ordinary final term, but was good before that.

Vanders was absolurely hopeless today, as was Garland. Viney doesn't do enough damage with his disposals and Grimes is atill a horrible turn over merchant and shouldn't be there next year. Dawes is done as far as I'm concerned.

Harmes wasn't bad though, Brayshaw and Cross tried hard, but everyone else...

Melbourne played exactly as they did last week.

Poor skills, poor coaching and on top of that poor umpiring didn't help.

Worryingly, we've been getting worse every week since Geelong. We need to snap this emphatically next week.

Ollie Wines would have been handy today

It's not as if the club hasn't been given chances

I am not stating this to start an arguement.

It is a Fact...sadly

Wrong decisions bite back hard.

Anyone heard from our President?

Has he died quietly?

Wines, Darling, Sloane, Rockliff

Every club can point to players they should've picked but the difference with this list is that these 4 players were told they would be picked up by the club. Its hard to get closer to picking someone and not picking them than that

Today confirmed that I can't stand Dawes. He is football cancer. Cannot continue to carry him, it's detrimental to the team.

Statistically we had good players today but everyone made 1 or 2 crucial errors.

THE UMPIRING IS NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S FARCICAL!!!!!!!! THEY DESERVE NO RESPECT WITH THE CALLS THEY'RE GIVING. PLAYERS CAN DROP THE BALL WHEN TACKLED TO GET AWAY WITH IT BUT THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE TO WIN THE BALL AND HAVE IT HELD TO THEM

We did far too many short, sideways kicks and handballs given the conditions. It felt like rock bottom again today, seriously

Can someone explain why McDonald played forward while Riewoldt destroyed us with his one good leg. Garland was never really a chance to win the matchup.

Same could be said for Vanders. Was played forward today for some bizarre reason. PUT HIM IN THE GUTS!

In the scheme of things it's one game of football, a few things went wrong and some horrible umpring didn't help our cause. The result has no bearing on September.

However,

To attract players and members over the off-season (and thus give ourselves a genuine chance to improve), we need to show marked improvement on the field. For mine, that's 7-8 wins. We can't afford to be dropping the winnable ones especially in this fashion. Therefore, we must now beat Carlton (obviously) but also *pinch* a game against one of Collingwood, Bulldogs, Giants or North. Can't see it happening.

Very disappointing.

Darling? I know everyone on here wanted him, especially over Lucas [censored] Cook, but I don't think BP was ever interested. Care to elaborate?

Interesting isn't it. We really can't even be bothered to walk to the microwave. PJ was right when he said that the club had lost the trust of the members. Games like today make it nearly impossible for us to trust the club.

Edit for spelling

MFC were interested in him. There were articles on Inside Football about it.

Of course we were interested in him, we were interested in anyone. But he was never told we'd be picking him, and that goes for the others on that list as well.

We are unwatchable. It's not the defensive focus or the rolling scrums, it's the fact that you just know with every movement forward, we will torch the entry in to 50 and lose it. It's just so bloody frustrating.

Stretch, vanders, Brayshaw and Harmes - these young blokes all add something at their best and have really bright futures, but there are too many of them in our side and when they all fail at once, it leaves too much for too few. It's not their fault, it's just how it is. I expect to see Matt Jones, Bail et al reappear and finish the season out shortly. It sucks, but that's why they're on the list - to take punishment instead of the valuable youth.

I don't know why the selectors bother picking Michie. I'm not particularly a fan, but he is being set up to fail, or so it appears from my bean bag.

Bernie, Jones, Cross, Dunn (if I'm generous). Thank God for these guys. Carrying the side on their backs at present. At least it's not poor old Jones on his own now.

I don't forecast a bleak future based on my most recent memory like many, I've seen plenty to remain optimistic this year. The risk for me is that I die of boredom waiting.

We've been pathetic since the Darwin game.

Just saying.

We've been pretty bad since the bye. Just like last year. Edited by Demon Jack

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
