Howe (or the pick we get for Howe) + a pick 5-ish should get us something decent

In your considered opinion curry, would that be the FA pick we get for Howe? Bwahahahah!!!!!!!

What's Daniel Rich's contract status - anyone know?

I wouldn't mind him among our mids.

What did he do on the weekend. Or for that matter since he has come back from his knee?

Posted

didn't paul roos say that last year but we didn't drag anyone.

Obv Like to get Motlop, Treloar or Prestia.

Would give up pick 4.

Give Pick 4 and 22 for Pick 8 and Motlop.

or

Pick 4 for Treloar

or

Prestia + Jesse Lonegan for Pick 4.

What are you smoking?

Obviously you'd do the due diligence thing on his health!

But .. He's proven tough, can find the ball and kick a goal. Like all players returning from knee, shoulder, hip etc it takes time to regain full form and confidence. He must only be 25/26.

As I said - due diligence but well worth a look.

Having said that I've no idea of his contract status. Always liked him.

I thought Roos' comments could have been a jab at Jones. He hasn't stepped up as expected.

Jones had a poor game, but worse was his attitude seemed introverted and down. We've lacked leadership these past few weeks and if we lost that's where the blame would've gone.

It's not as inspired, but Scott Selwood could help bring some leadership and class to the midfield. Or just go all out for Danger!

I think you're really clutching at straws here. Jones has shown great leadership and performed very well this year. He was tagged out of s large chunk of yesterday's game but still lead with some handy play.

Your Captain doesn't need to be an A grader but Jones has played some A grade games this year.

I'd look at Treloar, Prestia, Aish...

It really depends who is available and willing.

I'd bet there's some kids at GWS under contract but not getting a game that would be open to a change.

I am hoping Roosy and PJ have deals ready to go

We must take the next step.

We need fast mids who can pin point kicks to our forwards.

Hogan will kick 10's regularly with clean passes

We have seen him often take a clean grab in a pack.

Is Harley Bennell and A grader?

He is class A.

Speedy midfielder.

Not afraid to show it.

Does he pass the sniff test Biff?

At least he isn't a Christian.

We don't need them.

Would he expect a Bishop-like helicopter ride to the G? Bit like Huddo....

can you stop dishing out the zingers seinfeld, my sides are hurting too much

Funny how most sides can draft in an A grade midfielder. It does take some time to develop them I admit. But we talk about poaching one from somewhere and in my opinion we probably need 2 or 3 to become a serious contender. The upside is we may have one or more already on our list. I am thinking Brayshaw, Viney and Salem. Time will tell. But we still need more. Yesterday we got smashed in the midfield by the bottom side! But still won because we have built up our forward line and have a backline and a defensive game plan.

That isn't acquiring a free agent the new, it's trading.

Freo gave up nothing but we had to trade for bernie vince, it was the compo pick but it's not the point.

Collingwood traded Dawes for a top 20 pick and obtained his replacement (lynch) for nothing

Melbourne hasnt done this sadly

If you read throught the list of current free agents, its pretty slim pickings outside of Dangerfield, if you're trying to land a gun.

The only way I see us bringing in an A grade mid this year, is by trading.

Well Carro just said on the 'Good Call/Bad Call' questions that didn't make tonights show that Bennell would be the best fit for the demons.

She is a witch yes, but i'd take him in a heart beat.

had to read that twice to make sure the him wasn't a her....................phew

Too sophisticated for you curry. I understand. I'll dumb them down in future just for you

Man that would be amazing... drools

Fair bit of risk comes with Bennell, but if that was alleviated, then he'd be absolutely perfect.

If we could do something for the double (Bennell and Dixon), then we'll have just about reached Nirvana you'd think.

We'd just need to make sure their dealer doesnt deliver to Victoria..

God I hope he changes his mind and doesn't go, because Geelong has no plan B.

It would make me very very happy.

You might just get your wish M5...plenty of serious chat in footy media today that Danger is about to sign with the Crows.

I wonder how Motlop will react given that the Cats were about to give him up. He might walk to another team, which will continue the Cats slide down the ladder without him and Danger.

Like you I would be happy to see them slide! Would also be very happy to see Motlop come to us!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
