Also well done to Howe and Dawes... nice timing for their best games of the season. I wanted them both dropped, I dont back down from that but just glad they delivered finally

A win. If we hit targets we would have won by plenty... Some bad turnovers and then loss of confidence, static play, viscous circle of despair. Hung on long enough. Lions, as we were told by the oracle, were appalling.

First half was good.

Second half was bad.

We are definitely were we are meant to be on the ladder, Middle bottom.

Hopefully next season we are in the top bottom of the ladder.

Yes Jane, some people are never happy. Imagine what they would be like if we had lost!!! Not pretty but 4 points.

I sometimes feel like there are people on here who are disappointed when we win. Always focus on the negatives. We could have won by 100 points today yet they would focus on the worst player on the ground.

Jeez some people are never pleased.

Take the win and look forward to next week. This was Brisbane's strongest side they put out all year and I expect them to get a couple of wins this latter part of the year.

I'm happy. I will take a win any day of the week.

With quite a few on here expecting a loss, i don't see the problem of us winning a very ugly game by 24 points.

Where we are and are coming from, you take any win you can, no matter how and against who.

We had 10 players with under 50 games, and 6 first year players (5 if you don't count Jesse)

Damn right Ill take the win, especially with the pessimism coming into the game surrounding Brisbanes so called gun midfield and the return of Stiff Martin

Good games from Dawes and Howe. Good work to the boys. I like the idea of seeing Mac forward. Come draft time we might end up with a Key Defender or 2 instead of a key forward and McDonald could go full time forward. I just don't trust his kicking.

Also - how good is Taylor! And Aish will look good for the dees next year

Positives were better games from Howe and Dawes

I think Harmes will be a player.

Cross is a legend. Vanders has been a great get.

Viney has really come on. Garland and Jetta was good.

Gawn is a beauty.

Very unconvinced by JKH and Lamumba.

I didnt think Lumumba was too bad. Got a fist in at vital times and completely negated McStay. They threw McStay back late in the game to try and mix it up.

Love Gawn showing Robinson some bruise free footy with that bump

That was great. The soft [censored] went down like a sack of spuds

I was watching on tv. I thought the commentary team did a great job of making it sound a lot closer than what it really was.

I was starting to panic for a second and then thought 'hang on, we are 4 goals up in a low scoring game.'

We won by 24 in the end. I'm very happy.

It's reasonable to acknowledge it was an ugly win. Viney just described it as such in his post match.

Happy, but not overjoyed,

We won. Dawes and Hogan played well.

Garland spoiled everything.

Our skills are poor. Once we started trying to control the tempo we played like crud.

Next week provides the best chance in a long time for back to back wins and to climb out of the bottom 4

What a horrible, horrible, horrible game.

We kick one goal that's ONE goal after half time and win!

My god we r pathetic and very lucky we played Brisbane who r actually worse than us.

Bloody horrible.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
