Given this...

Interesting (and disheartening) stat: the last 5 times a team has lost by 100+ points, 4 of 5 have come back the following week with a win (and the 5th was a draw).

...if we don't beat Brisbane, I will bemoan the fact that we didn't lose by over 100 points last week to give us an 80% chance of beating the Lions.

If we don't beat the Bears, I will start a new thread titled "If we beat the Saints, I will ......." in the hope that it will inject a hint of positiveness into Demonland for the following week. We will need it!

I'll already be drunk so maybe head to the local and hit on some slappers. Throw up in a pot plant then fall down some stairs.

If we win I'll sober up and sit under a tree questioning reality.

I shall give myself a jolly good Flogging!

What would you do if we win Bitter???

If Brisbane wins, that would suggest they're not tanking. Our percentage is not great and if we lose every remaining game and even snag a win, it would drop and we'd freefall.

We're paying $26 for the spoon, $11 for 17th, and $7 for 16th. They are all amazing odds that I'll jump on if we lose this weekend.

does this equate to min return of $350 (7x50) max $550 (11x50) for $150 outlay .

Seems like easy money

Slappers, haven't seen that saying for a very long time.

Brought a smile to my face and brought back memories!!

Have trouble convincing my 5y/o to ever come to the footy with me again. He's been 3 times for an 80 point, 100 point and a loss where we kicked 3 goals in a game.

He's going to be one of the kids in the Guard of Honour as the players run on the ground through the banner so that will be a special moment for me. I just hope the players give him something to cheer for during the game.

I get the feeling that you would do this anyway.

I won't be suprised at all.

The Bears have a good midfield, they have pushed a lot of sides for 2-3 quarters this year.

It won't be an easy game...(what are they??)

Roosy wants a Free Agent this coming draft

God dam we need one.

The clean cannot happen fast enough...

Maxwell Smart comes to mind since they cancelled his show.

Thats my weekend when we win. Slappers!!!!!!

Just went to the TAB.

Put $20 @ $11 for Brisbane to win by 40 points or more.

$30 on Melbourne to win the spoon.

Also get on St Kilda @ $1.90 to beat us next week before the odds come tumbling down.

May as well salvage something from these turkies.

You'll find there's about 30 old-timers who'll get upset you aren't referring to them as the Roys when they're in Melbourne

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
