GAME DAY at Alice Springs - Round 9

Stand by the Newton omission being a poor decision. He's our 3rd ranked goal kicker.

Yep. Jetta for Viney for workload reasons wouldn't look so bad if we had more fun and not a giraffe stuck in the forward line.

Edit: Run, not fun. Freudian slip, obvs.

Misson still unable to have our players fitter then the opposition

Yep,i always stuck up for him and said give him the 3 years.

Well the time is here to see results and it aint happening.

How the hell has it gotten this bad.......We just fell apart after the first quarter?

57-point turnaround since there was 7 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Look out for Normans!

And another goal to Port.

Even though it is only a 4 goal margin, it is not looking good at all now.

Viney on, but for Jetta, which is disappointing but maybe had to happen.

Jetta "in" was a poor option. As was retaining Fitzy. Doesn't add any value to our mid field and made us too top heavy (with the addition of an extra "tall" spud).

Riley and Viney were a much needed addition to the rotations through the mid field.

Even Newton would have been a decent option over Jetta. Our defence is not the issue it's the mid field and too many talls versus a Port who has so many solid extractors through the middle.

I will never support Roos bringing Jetta off. Never.

Surely Jetta hasn't lost that much fitness. He would have been allowed to train and run while out with concussion.

I just don't understand why you wouldn't bring in Viney and take out Fitzy to give us more run.

I don't even know when we will ever back up a good win with another good win.

And how many goals have Port got in the last 5 minutes of quarters?

And it has to be said - Jones 11 possessions in 1st quarter, 4 for the next 2 quarters. It may not be his fault if he's getting a hard tag, but if he is & we're trying to rely on him out of the stoppages, we're going nowhere.

It's the GWS game all over... [censored] pathetic. Our inability to stop a side when they have a run on is a real concern, no players put their hand up and stop it. Why was Jetta subbed out ? Obviously managing his minutes but [censored] me, fitzy can not move out there. Why he was picked in the first place once Ryder was out is moronic

Front runners who can't handle pressure. Fall a couple of goals behind and its game over.

I suppose we should go easy on Howe. After all, he did pull a hammy in November...

You know whats funny?

If Watts plays on Queens Birthday he will look and play just like the schoolboy who debuted on QB all those years ago

Nothing has changed with him. he is a joke

Can anyone who rates Rohan Bail as a footballer please jog on.

Saty?

Not when it comes to football. His interests lie elsewhere.

Trade him, just trade him.

Someone has to want him first. I guess we can throw in a few dollars as a sweetener.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
