Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Where was the running, pressure, tackling we saw against the Crows and Tigers? Surely these things, based on effort, shouldn't change regardless of your opponent.

Spot on, mate. Teams may change, but endeavour should remain the same.

We are there abouts each week with the opposition in tackling contested possession and inside fifties counts . It's the quality of our ball use -.finishing slow play and bloody turnovers usually by foot that kill us . Today we were taught a lesson by a very good team .

Especially Dawes...if he makes it next week that is

Today was another putrid episode in the modern history of the MFC. I wrestled hard with the idea of maintaining my premium membership for the 37th consecutive year and kept the faith. It was not the 100 point loss that angered me, this putrid football belongs to the group of players whose attitude and self respect belongs in the toilet.

Dawes is just one of this group who are getting a game purely on our lack of talent and depth. The only solution I can come up with in the short term is for the club to throw the chequebook at 2 or 3 superstars to keep this club relevant. I cannot see any other way of keeping members on board unless the club goes this way. Peter Jackson and the off field team are getting their job done, however Jacko needs to harness all his resources humanly possible to get A grade stars onto our list for 2016.

MELBOURNE coach Paul Roos has told his players to forget about Saturday's 105-point loss to Hawthorn and he has no plans to show them a replay as part of the team's review.

The coach suggested his players could even be granted extra days off this week as the club prepares to audit their workload and conditioning after a sluggish performance at the MCG.

Roos said injury management was a big issue for the Demons after Jesse Hogan was withdrawn pre-game with soreness and Christian Salem was substituted with a hamstring injury.

Wow 20 years ago if a team had a loss like that there would be a 6am bring your mouth guards training session where it was an all out no holds back training.

YOu also have to think Roos has never been in this position as coach where the team gets belted a lot. So I guess he has to find a way to get confidence back into the boys.

Roosy will do it his way, however the club cannot escape the fact that the list contains too many who are not AFL standard. The longest rebuild in history.

GWS have a group who play with pride. They want to compete and seem determined to improve.

How many people were talking about how crap the Bulldogs and Saints talent levels were over the last few years? All of a sudden they are once again miles ahead of us. Why? Because they have loads more talent than us? No, it's because they want to compete. Essendon are also miles ahead of us despite having an ordinary list with a one paced midfield. Why? Yep, it's because as a club they are EXPECTED to compete.

I wouldn't be using GWS to support your argument. They prove what I'm saying. When we have been poor (finished low on the ladder) THEY got all the talent in the draft, and now THEY are a much better side because of it. Judging against your criteria Roos is incapable of demanding and measuring effort but Leon Cameron isn't? Come off it. It's the cattle.

As for the bulldogs - they are probably a couple of years ahead of us because they had a better mix of experience to help development.

Saints - Juries out. They've been up and down. As have we.

Essendon - I agree that it's an ordinary list but it's an ordinary list with 50-100 games on average more than ours. Time in the competition can't be underestimated.

Anyways. Lets agree to disagree. Losing sucks. I'd love you to be right and we demand more effort and the players can turn it around based on that alone!

Can we get rid of the players on the banner and put them back when they hit form?

I am thinking it will be pretty empty for a while.

Viney and Hogan can stay.

Roos has had some reasonable payers elsewhere. He has 2 or 3 at this club. Some of the "efforts" of our players seem to show a complete lack of heart. The commitment is pretty much zero. The future is almost now gone. The club is apparently doomed.......................................................................or is there still a tiny bit of pride somewhere? The President needs to come out publicly aloud and tell the playing group how stupidly inept they look. Our final chance is seemingly to embarrass the hell out of them. I can't bear the thought of travelling all the way (3 hrs) to a game to be served up that shite. OK players, who is going to have a real go next week? There are a few VFL sides that would toss them at the moment. Maybe even Carlton or the Saints. I'm nearly done! I am over all the [censored] promises. I'd just like to ask each of the players one thing..........................."Who is genuinely embarrassed to be playing for this club?" The answers would be totally enlightening!

A young mate who is a hawks man gave me a text last night and said he had tickets. Yea why not I say.

The company I used to work for, he still does are Hawks sponsors. The tickets were in the Hawks ticketed area.

Was really hard to not go nuts at some of the people around me just laughing and taking the p!ss out of our sh!tty sh!tty club.

Little boy to his parents: so do Melb always lose?

Parents: yes pretty much

Boy: so are they on the bottom

Parents: always

Boy: so it's an easy game

This was before the game, the questions/laughter/answers got worse as the the game went on.

I will have a new born in Sept... Not sure I can toture him with dees membership

Victory breed emnity,

The defeated one sleeps poorly,

The peaceful one sleeps easy having given up victory and defeat.

The Buddha.

As probably the only Melbourne supporter to have meditated for 6 hours yesterday and left a Buddhist monastery this morning to go to the MCG,I used the quote above to keep myself peaceful, just thought I'd offer it here for an substitute for drugs, alcohol, punching holes through walls, burning down the MFC,player witch hunts ect.

Agree that we need PJ to come out and make a stand, reassure us... something, ANYTHING. Because right now (and after the GWS thrashing) all I see is a doomed club that will fold by the next broadcast rights agreement.

I have a sick feeling that we're cooked as a football club.

All we are going to do as a club to players like Hogan and Brayshaw is bring them down.

I actually feel sorry for Hogan.

Oh, harden the [censored] up. I hope that's a facetious comment.

Why do you feel sorry for him? He's going to get seven figures at Freo. Edited by praha

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
