Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I thought it was his worst game for the year watching it live. Not to say it wasn’t a good game, just not as good as all his others.

Just saw the stats, 22 touches, 8 marks and 3 goals. He is in some sort of form if that’s a quiet game. What a beast.

His stats are starting to move into elite territory as a tall forward.

The thing that has stood out most to me this season and was evident on the weekend was his disposal. He hits targets whether its 15 or 40 metres and under pressure too. He generally makes good decisions when he has clean possession. I think the best comparison right now might be Roughead in his prime. He's got similar impact across the ground. Feels like we're starting to see the player he wants to be and he's tracking nicely for that peak prime of mid-late twenties.

His first year he was the contested marking king and really coming to notice by making Rance look like just another defender. He won the 2015 rising star, the first forward since Nick Riewoldt in 2002. Melbourne were average, it was all about Jesse.

IN 2016 it was the poor body language, the suspect kicking action and the never ending will he or won’t he leave 18 months BEFORE his contract was due to finish. Melbourne were average, it was all about Jesse

Last year the poor bastard had the well documented year from hell. Melbourne were ok but there was a lot about Jesse.

This year Jesse is currently 4th in the Coleman kicking a very economical 20 goals 8. He is racking up midfielder disposal numbers whilst running further than nearly all others. Melbourne are quite good but it’s not about Jesse.

I get the feeling that he is way happier and plays better when he just part of a team and it’s not about him..

The Hulk really is incredible.  20 touches, 11 marks and 5 goals.

His workrate is phenomenal.. now up to third in the Coleman with 26 goals on the season.  And the goals are only half the story.

All Australian lock.

For those that questioned the beginning of the Hogan era - this is what we saw: a bloke who could go up the ground for 14kms, set up goals with his footy IQ, and make men look like boys one out in front of goals.

He is terrifying.

After the horrible year he went through last year, it's great to see him out there enjoying his footy. He clearly has lots of mates at the club and shares the love around. Handballed 2-3 goals off today too, so could've kicked a few more. He's in All Australian form at the moment. Absolute freak talent. So glad he's in red and blue!

Does anyone really think that he could possibly enjoy playing under Ross Lyon with his 6-8 goal a game forward line? (Could anyone for that matter - doesn’t look like anyone does at the moment)

Seriously, what a special talent who appears to be enjoying every moment (well almost, other than the after siren play on brain fade)

Well done Jesse - we love you and look forward to many years kicking multiple goals and assisting Demon teammates kick many more.

Yes, a poster in the sack Goodwin thread, who suggested Hogan would leave the club because Goodwin was playing him out of position up the field.

I’m absolutely in awe of Jesses form this year. He has taken the next step and has developed into much more than a key forward.

As some commentators have mentioned his huge tank and Riewoldt like presence and work rate have seen him develop beyond to what I could’ve dreamed this season.

Hulkamania running wild on you brother.

So long as he doesn't emulate some of the Hulkster's more questionable after hours activities (such as with old lady Love Sponge) then I don't mind this nickname.

I'm surprised there are not apologies from posters in this thread.

Some of the comments by dolts re Hogan were pathetic.

Just had a quick skim through the early days of this thread, and was reminded that Leigh Matthews said Hogan was no good when the ball hit the ground. Brilliant.

Fits right in with some of the idiotic claims and comments about Jesse in this thread. Comical stuff.

He is something else.

He now looks happy, and happy to be playing his role. The consummate team player. That’s the big difference.

Is it just age, developing maturity, the change in game plan, team success, mentoring, coaching, coming to terms with where he is at in life??

But he has become a star but one that has his ego in check who is playing a team role.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
