Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You know what's great?

We've got something everyone wants, it's very, very scarce - which means you're going to have to give up something equally remarkable to get it, and we are very, very happy to keep it.

This is the 'downside' of great drafting.

Well played MFC.

Unfortunately that's no longer the case. We can't just trade Hogan to the highest bidder. If he decides to leave, he'll nominate a club, and we'll have to get what we can.

True, but at least we have some ability to negotiate (as opposed to walking out as a free agent).

Based purely on my gut instinct I think he's gone, I don't think it will be money I just think he will want to be back in WA.

If all of the pointless threads, from all of the football forums, formed their own forum - OF POINTLESS THREADS - In that forum, this would be the most pointless thread.

this is the no.1 asset in the comp, could be the difference between winning a flag or not wining one.

there are plenty of bits of worrying info.

heaps of current elite players have already set the precedent that loyalty no longer exists

how anyone can think that this is a 'pointless' discussion is beyond me. It is hard to imagine a more important one in fact.

My gut instinct is that it probably says more about the person making the gut instinct prediction than it does about what Hogan is likely to do.  And yes, that applies to my gut too.

Did Fremantle on trade first round pick for 2016 last year?

Sorry to read a player goes home mid week for a surf with his brother, he is gone if Fremantle have pick 1 this year you trade him this year if he doesn't sign by trade week.  Rapt if he stays but if we think he is going we need to maximise our return, Pick 1 and 2017 first round pick sounds about right, maybe a swap of a couple of picks their second round for ours.

I pity the fool that thinks in this manner.

He's contracted until the end of 2017.

It's a waste of time and energy.

Stevet Hemanj or Dan, you are so right.

If you have no control over a situation there is no benefit in wasting time on it.

Worrying has no benefit whatsoever.

It is fine to discuss contingencies and probabilities but spare me the Chicken Little's.

Of course he didnt go to talk to Freo. thats people trying to connect dots that dont exist. im sure he went home to visit family and friends in this day and age you dont have to fly to freo to discuss ontracts. still think hes gone but his visit got whipped up by the media

Good Post.  Its about club success over here as he has stated etc.

I am more rapt now with jack's re-signing this week and the team the recruiters have built.  Give me a strong midfield any day. Hogan can be replaced and won't win us the flag. That's the mid fields job.

This Sunday could be our watershed game!

okay - I can't help myself.

We can have varying opinions on him staying or going. - but to dismiss Hogan with he can just be "replaced and won't win us a flag"  - seriously.......

I would love to think he will remain loyal to his club and mates but squillions in the bank with lifetime security , a penthouse overlooking a fabulous Perth beach versus the regular commute along Punt Rd to Gosch's seems a no-brainer .

I know you jest but the commute and location of Fremantles new training location in Cockburn should be enough to put him off.

For all we know he could be home to discuss with his parents that he wants to stay with the Demons.

Who knows, there could already be a substantial offer on the table to stay on for another four or five years, and he is ready to commit.

They pronounce it Coburn. I keep trying to tell everyone you can't have a silent "ck", it's cockburn but they won't have a  burning bar of it.

"No not a chance. No way," Hogan told Channel 10 on Wednesday.  (When asked if he had met with Freo while in Perth this week)

Now by itself it doesnt mean much as his management would be doing the negotiating atm, so he would have no reason to meet them, but just the way he is quoted as saying it gives me hope...

And if he does go, welcome Lachie Neal and a first round pick at least. I desperately want him to stay as i am certain he will become something very special, but if he goes we can still be confident that MFC are heading into the 8 regularly over the next several years, and we will still have our shot.

Who's to say we wont snag a big name of our own anyway? Wins = more appeal, and we should win plenty.

*shrug

P.S. STAY JESSE WE LOVE YOU YA BIG LUNK. (And you will miss playing with Weideman)

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
