Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

You'd think his management would be screaming out at him to stay in Melbourne. Over the last few years most if not all of the young guns who have "gone home" to Perth have come from QLD, NSW etc. And then you have those coming back to Melbourne. Scully is the exception but we know why he left.

Hogan isn't going anywhere.

I did hear a whisper the involvement of the current coach going forward is having a bearing on drawing out the talks to seasons end. In fact i think there is quite a few players looking forward to the coach in waiting taking over. I reckon he will sign at the end of the year, once its clearer what the coaching structure is.

Are you saying players want to make sure Roos is gone before re-signing?

If us improving is so big a factor for Jesse's decision, why would he then leave when we do improve and Freo are a huge chance for the wooden spoon?

As I already explained. Money. I don't think any one thing makes any player's mind up. Decisions this big involve all the usual things. Homesickness, money, girlfriends, team success and trust in the club. Every year there's big names being looked at and every year they leave. All I'm saying is team success alone doesn't mean as much as people think, or Bernie wouldn't have come over.

Sure, but the MFC would clearly be able to pay him the dollars he's worth as well, and allow him to play at the MCG every other week, and not have to fly every second week.

I listened to SEN for 5 minutes and heard that giant [censored] Greg Denham say we should not pay overs and used Tom Boyd as the example.

So...Idiot Denham is comparing Boyd to our last seasons  leading goal kicker, mark and contested mark ( i think he was top 5 in the league for contested marks last season ?) and this season Jesse has had a slower start to the season where he still our highest mark taker, second to Gawn in contested marks and second to Watts in goal kicking.

I have no problem in arguing that you don't want to overpay players ( taking note that player payments are totally subjective) but comparing him to Boyd who may turn out ok but undoubtedly the bulldogs punted on him before they had any real exposed form to justify the contract they gave is comparing apples with a turd sandwich

The way the Dees are playing Hogan is not the focal point, the club realises he may want to go home. Hopefully he chooses to stay and the fact Freo are crap that may encourage him to stay. Another good recruiting round at the end of the year will ensure that we will be finals material. Remaining spuds will be let go.

whaaaaatttt ???

The way they are playing Hogan shows me that the club realises that he is a better as a centre half forward that moves around with some time deep and some time up the field than a stay at home full forward....

(btw - the non focal point has taken more marks than anyone else in the team.)

Greg the venom, wish he would bite himself!

Well i think Tom "The Eagle" Boyd was one of the rare mistakes the Bulldogs have made in recent trade/draft periods, I just do not see anything in him, like Vickery or Tippett.

Lets be honest, if Jesse stays or goes he's going to be getting Tom Boyd level dollars on his next contract unless he has a very serious injury.

Yeah but at least we know what we are getting.

The long plane trips every fortnight are robbing the West Australian teams of recruits ,according to Balme on Sen.

Many now think Hogan will stay at Melbourne.

I think he will get the money Dawes is now getting if he recovers his form a bit.

NUTBEAN the Dees surely would have a back up plan by now if Hogan wishes to leave when his contract is up.

Yup - the backup plan is get the best deal they can, hope that the Weed or Hulett come on and either draft or trade in a forward but to suggest that "the way the Dees are playing Hogan is not the focal point the club realises he may want to go home" ???( It is pretty much the same backup plan they have for any player - if anyone wants out - get the best deal, hope a youngster comes through or trade in).

Are you seriously suggesting that they are not using him as focal point because he may want to go home ????????

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
