I think Watts and Hogan have been ok with limited opportunities since 1/2 time. Salem has also done ok.[/quote Watch it again later and watch Watts' loping around, not chasing, not manning up at all. Salem the only real trier in the second half. Last week was a fluke. This is the real deal. Mind you the home ground, home crowd advantage and the lack thereof away from home has a definite effect on our players' weak combined psyche.

It was actually 14 from the end of the 2nd to the start of the 4th.

If the game had started then we'd be 84 points down. Without a goal.

Has to rival some of the recent floggings we've had for our worst performance in recent memory. Sounds hyperbolic, but we have almost no injuries to speak of, we were coming off one of the highest highs we've had in 10 years, GWS struggled to beat St Kilda last week, and we kicked 7 of the first 8 goals of the game.

Anyone know a good TV show worth watching?

Game of Thrones starts again this week...the final episode of Justified, it's been a great show. 6 seasons should take up some time.

At least Salem has stood up today and had a great game in defense. A few others with him but mainly passengers the whole lot - have any of our leaders played well?

JKH should have stayed in the team

Dawes should have earned his spot at Casey

Too top heavy today as some predicted after team selection

Posted

Dawes is awful.

Hogan just cracked it at Jamar for the delivery.

Posted

Garland Frost Howe Jetta 4 tackles between them

Pretty bad for a defensive unit...

Highest score GWS has ever got in a half of footy. Where is this Paul Roos defensive game

FMD. I checked the scores at half time at work and thought it was good. I get home and see this shite. What the hell happened?

I guess you could say the match has been "Melbourne'd".

Please.

Culturally, I stand by my opinion that Roos made a really counter-productive and culture hurting decision to change a winning team. This is a psychological defeat more than a physical one.

Dawes didn't even play reserves last week and should never have come straight back in.

Dawes blocked Hogan from the marking contest and doesn't even go for it himself

McDonald, Jetta, Salem our best

Tyson, Hogan, Watts good in the 1st half. Unseen in the 2nd.

Jones, Tyson, Vince, Dunn, Howe, Lumumba, Jamar all very disappointing.

We are a long way off. Still.

The entire side's been unseen in the second half.

At least Tyson, Hogan and Watts did something for a half.

Who is Jetta playing on? Has he taken someone out of the game? Not sure how else he registers in your best.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
