Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Correctly I might add.

Then he should remember where the game began, the bloated, ruddy Tird .

Vanders is probably a little jittery because he didn't get usual 30+ possessions that he gets in the NEAFL - he is not used to getting only 17 possessions. But he doesn't waste a single possession! And as everyone has pointed out, his 1%'s are invaluable to the team. One further point: I reckon every member of the team should take lessons from Vanders on how to weight a kick - sublime....

And smother. People have mentioned the one resulting in the goal, but the time he threw himself at the ball in the center square stands out to me.

He is only a few donuts away from a heart attack.

The Gorilla stuff showed his buffoonery.

He is a joke at gtv9

They can't escape collingwood quick enough.

Daisy,Dawes,Beams etc were no doubt sick of the bus ride also.

Can we please not get on this issue AGAIN. There are a number of threads dedicated to no facilities at training blah blah, please use them.

Ease up mod. A poster who goes to training can comment on the training facilities surely.

Great to see the really positive atmosphere after the win. Despicable, can you please tell me how the guys on the periphery who are playing at Casey looked today? Eg, Grimes, Michie, Pedo. Thanks.

It has been done to death, I go and watch and talk, making sure I have had a good [censored] at Edwins before I walk out, the club spent money on another camera that Roos' loves

As for the "Casey' players, it was a very 'light' session today, but everybody did a solid session

OD I like your posts generally but I thnik you are well out of line with this and I take umbrage at the suggestion we are only there due to the favour of Collingwood.

1. The fixture is not equal. The Pies get favoured. As do the bigger clubs. This results in more revenue for them and less for us.

2. TV coverage is not equal. If you were to sponsor a footy club then the Pies get consertaively 3x more coverage than us. This is simply not fair.

3. There are 18 teams in the comp. The Pies can play themselves if they want to but as it stands all 18 teams are part of the package and deserve equal rights. Coll 1sts v Coll 2nds wouldn't get much coverage or advertising. They need us,

4. In the last 60 years we have won twice as many flags as them

5. 'Equalisation' is really only part equalisation for points 1,2,and 3 above. We get shafted. Any squealing about Eddie suporting the weaker clubs is just that - squealing. When we play the bigger teams at the MCG we get big crowds and decent gate receipts. If we got decent TV coverage we would get decent sponsorship revenue.

6. We only Collingwood once a year generally (altho this year it is twice). even the fixture by getting rid of the NAB cup (BTW Who won the NAB cup this year? NFI because it is irrelevent)

7. Eddie is a [censored] from Broady that now lives in Toorak. He is the last person to lecture on what is best for the competition. His team has won 1 flag since he has been at the helm. he doesn't deserve all of the good things that the AFL delivers to the Pies

Rant over.

Sure, I'll try Moonshadow.

First I think its great that all bar long term injured were out there today. Roos had a fit team at the Swans when they were good and this is the 'most available' list I've ever seen at training (touch wood)

Secondly I think the players not in the first 22 were the best trainers and seemed to me as if they had fairly clear directions on areas of their game they needed to work on.

Pedo worked one on one with Brendan McCartney for a while below his knees then on a signal had to pick up and kick at goals off two steps.

I like watching Goodwin take a small group. All his drills are to do with around the stoppages an area we need developement in and if we do hopefully improve in that area I'd put that down to Goodwin. All his work is about creating and then protecting space around stoppages and then quick movement out to runners. I've watched him with most of the mids at some stage. Some of the one on one battles are great. Nat Jones hates getting beaten. Goodwin had Neal-Bullen, Stretch, Tyson and Bail today just doing drills to grab the ball and present your bum to the contest and hold the ball so as to keep your hands free. Pretty simple stuff but still good to practice and re-inforce.

Michie trained well but like Bail lacks "presence". I noticed him having shots at goal with Vince and Tyson from the boundary line and he was good.

Max Gawn is struggling a bit with not being the main man and was shouting random instructions at anyone who would listen. Melbourne's ruck trio are interesting, they had a bit of training together with Frost, King and Fitzy joining in. As I said earlier Jamar was terrific, as good as I've seen him train, he's up against a great ruck this week in Mumford so hopefully he goes well, Spencer was good and strong he ragdolled Jamar once but Gawny wasn't switched on today, and he let it show.

As I said earlier Grimes and Matt Jones trained really well, both had a great attitude and Grimes and Jordie stayed late doing kicking practice with each other.

I'm a little confused with the half pace training of some of them. I have no experience how a good side trains during the week. I'm sure there is a good balance between saving it for the game and making sure there is no complacency.

I expect Melbourne to win on the weekend and hope they come out firing.

I just want to put this to show that above everything else Jack Grimes is a team man and top bloke, he always says hello and calls me by my first name, I asked him today how he was, his answer "I am fine, and ready to have a red hot go with the Scorps this weekend"

Let's hope that Grimes and the others get rewarded with a Casey Premiership medal.

Back a few years we were in financial trouble and EDDIE agrees to make all QB games home games for us. Instead of a share about system.

He did not have to but he sees the benefit of having the MFC around in the future.

Of course he is going to go after the best deal for Collingwood.

It is not Eddys fault that the MFc has half the number of members as Collingwood, or that we have been a basket case for the last decade.

It is the fault of the MFC.

As part of the agreement with the QB'day game it guarantees an extra game at the G for the Pies which potentially means one week less of travelling interstate.

Eddie did it because he was a great deal for Collingwood, not because he was trying to give the MFC a break.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
