As someone used to say on a 1960s TV comedy (was it ?'Laugh In') - "very interesting, but not very funny."

Interesting thinking what could have been with better management at all levels in the club

He will be having his rehab, and hopefully return to the game at a very very different club

That would be Arte Johnson as the German soldier who would regularly say on Laugh In " Verrrrry interesting, but stupid" to some comment someone had made on the show. What a good show that was !!!!

I'm 58 OD. I've still got a bit of life in me yet. Plus I have to see the dees win a flag so three more years ought to be enough for that. ( and Trengove starring in that game)

No MFC player ( or perhaps even any player in the entire AFL) deserves more than to run out in Round 1 2016 and have an uninterrupted rest of their career

Go Trenners

You are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

You are going to need more than three PD

But you have another 15 with luck so that should do it.

However I remember thinking that in the seventies!!!

Yeah, if it wasn't for "Laugh-In" we would never have got Goldie Hawn.

Yes Pineapple I used to think the same when I was 58 Now I am having serious doubts as to whether I will ever see a demon premiership. That's what supporting this club does to you

But what the hell, what else am I going to do but be patient and see what happens

Do you think he will ever rate against our babies?

Petracca, Brayshaw, vandenBerg, Stretch, Bullen, Kent,Tyson, JKH. Salem, Hogan.

Plus the older guns we have added, Cross, Lumumba, Vince, Garlett

The improved real oldies Jetta,McDonald, Garland, Dunn, Watts, Gawn, N. Jones.

I have probably overlooked a few but with that list. No place for Trenners I am afraid.

Cross is a great example of what we want at the Dees, however i don't see him in our best next year bar injuries

FB - Jetta, McDonald, Dunn

CHB - Lumumba, Garland, Frost

C - Watts, *Vince / Trengrove, Salem

CHF - Kent , **Dawes , Howe

FF - Garlett, Hogan, Petracca

RUCK - Gawn, Jones , Brayshaw

INT - Toumpas, Vandenberg, Tyson, Viney

* Vince and Trengrove will provide the same service (goal kicking tagger)

** Dawes' position in the team as the sole KP at CHF needs attention

The true fact is that nobody, not even you, knows how things will turn out for JT

he will not have just sat out two years going fishing or watching movies.

He was a dedicated footballer, and has been mentioned our new professional club structure will have him doing lots of non physical tasks to help the club and to help him learn, as was done with Jesse.

If physically able he may well return a far more rounded and competent player and potential leader than he was at his previous peak.

See above. Agree totally.

I physically able he will be returning to a completely different club than the one at which he last played.

Any coincidence that he was carrying a foot injury 2012-13? Any possibility that this and not his general limitations held him back?

As I said at the start, nobody knows - what he needs is a hell of a lot of support and encouragement from true demon fans, not speculation as to how fast he will run or whether the game has passed him by. His injury and his rehabilitation has been handled very well by this new club.

great post mono

how do they fix/increase the blood supply to that area of the foot? to that bone?

Jack has his scans today.

Would love to see him in the red and blue again.

He would relish playing again especially with so many other good players around him.

I think the results come back in a few days.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the news is all good, for Jack.

Awesome news!

Great to see that Jack and Christian have become such good buddies.

Similar to the man-love between Nat and Gus.

The two young guys could not have better role-models!

Good to hear he is on track. Hopefully he can get fit and become something close to what we hoped years ago. His first two years were outstanding and if he returns to his top form he is well within our best 22 running through the midfield and resting up forward with his strong overhead marking.

Yeah it's an odd sort of message. Would like to hear that the scans came back all clear, the richmond doctor has reviewed them and he is right to run.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
