Someone said to me during the week that MFC supporters are the biggest bunch of whiners in the AFL. Hard to dispute with some of the comments in this thread. Nate, Tyson, Grimes, Salem, Jetta, Toumpas are running and using the ball well. Our forward set up looks well balanced and dare I say it dangerous with JKH and Jeffy at the big fellas feet. You can only beat what's in front of you. Hoping we put our foot down on their throat in the second half.

That would probably be me, having to 'watch' the game through here, radio and stream because of other commitments

Yes the Dogs are below strength, so Roos message will be to stick to game plan and methods and hopefully smash them

I am getting a mixed bag, but common themes are forward set up is looking good and ball movement has improved, if you can hit a team mate who is open, it doesn't matter who the opposition are, you are practicing getting open

Honestly, how could anyone possibly complain, I know they are under strength (still M.Boyd, Minson, Morris, Bontempelli etc.), but we are absolutely killing them and ball use is very good, especially considering windy conditions. Some people will never be happy.

This quarter will be telling for me.

We have smashed them in the first half and will be cruising. They will want to hit back. And we are kicking against a strong wind.

If we win this quarter I will be very happy with our endeavour.

Loved the work of Toumpas yelling at Watts to kick for goal. Even though he missed it as a forward there is no excuse for not having a shot for goal directly in front from 40 metres out (even with the wind blowing).

Loved that. Hogan dropped the mark and JKH crumbed the ball beautifully.

HAHAHA!!!!

Hutchy - "Great mark... Who is it?"

Pickers - "I think it's Viney but we'll have to wait till he turns around"

Hutchy - "Is it Viney? Hard to see from here"

Pickers - "Bloody Oath it is!"

HAHAHA!!! These guys are a cracker!

Big kill in the last is what we need - 7 goal quater go dees!!!

Commentators need a jizzlobber after Bonce and Pelli just kicked a goal...

Can't say I expected anything less.

Doggies are seriously undermanned. Some positives from a lot of our youngsters.

Grimes, McKenzie, Matt Jones.

The sooner we upgrade, the better.

How does Grimes consistently run team mates into trouble?

Dees butchering it a bit here.

Only started watching five minutes ago and... if I didn't know the scoreline I'd be embarrassed with how we're playing.

Who the hell was Dawes kicking to a minute ago? Caused a turnover then goal. Our defence seem to be running around without any direction at all.

Love Tyson, but struggling to hit a target.

But 80% disposal efficiency. *shrug*

Maybe he is getting it more often than you've noticed? I mean, he has had it more than anyone else on the ground.

I wonder if it is part of MFCSS to only notice who a player is after they've committed a turnover?

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
