Hands up who misses this bloke ?

Anyone......

Howe surprising lol

He needed to go, having said that I'm tipping if he plays a full season he will kick between 40-50 goals. Pies have the makings of a dangerous forward line, imagine if Cloke kicked straight all the time, it's either 6 goals 1 or 1 goal 6.

He did it playing cricket. I knew before it was reported.

They can spin it like a frisbee all they like.

I'd believe the frisbee story if I don't know otherwise though. I once had a staffy cross that jumped up at my hand as I threw a frisbee once, my hand didn't quite break, but my frisbee throwing confidence did.

Can't see it 'Bombay'.

He can't play deep as defenders have worked him out and check his run at the ball and he's not strong enough to compete for a contested grab.

He either get's a bit lazy further up the ground or doesn't have the game sense to find enough footy.

I agree deep forward he will struggle. I think his best option is wing, forward but does he have the defensive aptitude for that role, not sure. But he can run forward into space, and mark the ball inside 50 and kick a few. But that may not Fit Buck's game plan. Who knows but a very good team will make him look good.

With a midfield containing Pendles, Swan, Varcoe, Treloar, Steele, Adams and Greenwood the ball should find him on enough occasions. Plus he's not the primary target.

These are the teams Collingwood play twice.

Dees

Carlton

Richmond

Eagles

Bulldogs

If I say it equates to 2 goals a game as opposed to 40-50 for the season it's sounds more feasible ( stupid logic I know....).

I don't think his mindset will have changed too much RJay from what it was when he left here, more so he'll be in the right spot at the right time to be on the end of someone else's hard work.

To me he wasn't the best or the worst and for us to move up the ladder we need better.

What I will say that in my decades of watching football I have seen footballers who took big marks regularly  - Barker, the Birdman, Modra, Knights, our Robbo to mention but a few. I don't think, since I have been watching the game, there has been a footballer who takes big marks as frequently.

He was very exciting to watch. However, compare him to a Modra - Modra took a lot of big marks  but they were all close to goal so he could convert the mark into a goal. Howe did not take enough of these marks in areas where he could convert and he does not have enough of anything else to his game.

I predict he'll average less than 15 disposals/game and finish the season with ~20 goals and a disappointed group of toothless supporters.

Feel free to laugh, he's a good set shot on goal, Pies have a good draw, Pies have a gun midfield which is something we never had in his time here, 1 goal per half of footy isn't asking much.

Your good for a $100 then Dazzle??

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
