How can I be wrong when the deal hasnt been done yet ?

Go back and read what you posted, your just digging a deeper hole.

When everyone keeps saying it's you, it's probably you

Seedsman and pick ~25 to drop 3 spaces in the first round? GC could then package their second rounders for a first rounder. Not a bad deal overall.

It all depends on how much we want Parish though; it'll likely cost us Howe, pick 6 and pick 25 for a return of pick 3, Kennedy and Bugg/Melksham/Rosa.

Parish is a jet. Seeing the look on Dodoro's face if we snag pick 3...priceless.

If friggin' Redden is worth pick 17 and Henderson worth a first rounder then Howe is comfortably worth a first rounder.

I'd take both of those players every day of the week over Howe.

His highlights weren't impressive. That said hope it makes the Dons not want to deal with us. That way we get Parish and not Melksham

I work for Champion Data, capturing AFL and TAC stats every weekend during the season. Seen every game Parish has played in over the past two seasons, he's a star.

Alright, looking at the filth's list there's a player of similar age and games experience who could fill some of the Suns needs. Ben Reid!

So we trade Picks 6 to Gold Coast with Howe, Pick 25 & 64 to the filth.

Collingwood trade Kennedy & Pick 47 to us while sending Reid & Seedsman to Gold Coast

Gold Coast trade Pick 35 to Collingwood while Pick 3 & Gorringe to us (takes care of our ruck issues).

We loose picks 6, 25, 64 & Howe

Gain Pick 3, 47, Kennedy & Gorringe

Collingwood loose Reid, Seedsman, Kennedy & Pick 47

Gain Howe, 25, 35 & 64

Gold Coast loose Picks 3, 35 & Gorringe

Gain Pick 6, Reid & Seedsman

Probably to complicated though.

If it is true that Howe had meeting and a detailed package put to him over the last month but has only now let us know his preference, he really is a selfish ....

Screw him and his parasitic manager, would prefer to force him into the PSD than get bent over by them

Better than Francis?

Better than Francis?

They are apples and oranges. Parish is the best mid available and Francis the best utility. You can't really go wrong with either, it's just what the needs of your club are.

The best current AFL player analogy I could think of would be Parish (Marc Murphy) and Francis (Goddard)

Best we go with Curnow then...

I actually think we need a Marc Murphy type, regardless of everyone's apparent dislike of the player!

On principle I would let Howe screw himself in the draft than let Collingwood screw us in a trade for him.

Get your sunscreen ready Howey boy, you're heading to the Goldie.

kid's league

I agree with Roos here. Means fa

Some do well ...some step up...some have already reached their Zenith.

I like the idea of taking kids after a few years.. just swap picks for established.

You're not wrong... U/18's could be regarded as a 'kids league'.

But it's the best indication of talent available to recruiters, and there are standouts at the grade.

For what it's worth, Parish trained with Collingwood last pre-season and didn't look out of place as a 17 year old.

Don't be put off by our history with top 5 picks, we have the right people in charge now.

Something like

GC gain: Seedsman, Pick 6 (From Melb) Pick 25 (From Melb)

Coll gain: Howe, Pick 22 (From GC)

Melb gain: Kennedy, Pick 3 (From GC), Pick 44 (From Coll)

Seems pretty fair all round

GC have already traded 22 to Freo in the Bennell deal.

...I think we've shown it isn't like picking apples off a tree. How's securing Prestia going? Dangerfield? Kennedy? Sloane? Parker? Lynch?

No A-graders are interested in being traded to us right now. We have to build our core from the draft and do it the hard way first.

Not all apples are the same..despite rhetoric.

B....B+ isn't too shabby eh

Ch 7 reported after speaking to Melbourne IF he chooses Collingwood it will take alot more than a straight swap for Kennedy. It inferred we have a deal agreed in principle with Suns if he chooses there.

Finally we seem to have grown a pair. FINALLY.

This whole choosing collingwood better be speculation. I want Parish

Who doesn't?

We don't want him to choose Gold Coast, we NEED him to. Parish is a gun as Monde said a Marc Murphy like figure. A+ midfielders won't want to relocate here as of now, our midfield needs to be built in the draft and Parish looks to be the only option for competing with the best midfields in the comp

Sooooo....

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
