Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Article in the Sun today talking about Nathan and his his contract, mentioned that we will target Zac next season.

If we do in fact target him we need to hope that Heeney and Mitchell get regular places in the Swans side, limiting his chances. Brandon Jack and a couple of others improving could help our chances.

While he is not a star, I think it would be great to have another brother playing for us and if in fact we got him and Jake Lovett as a F/S, we could target other types next year with our drafting and trading, as we will have added plenty of mids over the last 2 years.

Anyway a lot of water to go under the bridge.

Was hoping Zac would get a regular game and we could target Mitchell

Mitchell is on big money and refused a Carlton offer this year. Get the feeling he would be harder to get and Zak being a Melbourne boy, also has the compassionate argument and his contract ends next year.

Swans are bringing in some real stars from their academy and they may stop Zak getting a game, along with Mitchell and others improving.

I wonder the logic behind broadcasting your intentions so early. Seems a bit weird.

The clubs all know what is going on, most of the time, with their lists.

If the Swans want to sign him for 2016 and he refuses to sign, you can figure it out.

It could have been just a throw away line from Nathan that he would love his brother playing with us next year and the journo beefs it up.

Frankly i hope Zac gets plenty of game time in the Swans midfield next year and then comes to us regardless (primarily to play with his brother as captain).

Funny story was talking to a young fella who was traveling up and playing footy up this way. He played Stingrays with Zac.

Apparently he interviewed so well at the draft with all clubs except Collingwood. He was straight up and told them that they were the last club he would want to play for due to their supporters after what they did to this dad couple of years ago, he and the family haven't forgotten about it and were promised by the Collingwood footy club something would be done about these maggots and to this day are still waiting... Hates them with an absolute passion and he defiantly made sure that they knew about it too.

Wouldn't want to mess with all three Jones brothers now. Apparently Young Zac can seriously throw a few.

That is the best thing I've ever read

Looks completely made up to me. There are no direct quotes, not even an insinuation and neither Jones or the club mentioned anything at all regarding Jones Jnr.

No outher news outlets running with it either.

I thought the exact same thing.

I agree...probably nothing....but maybe someone heard someone who knows someone...lol....maybe no more than a chinese whisper but an interesting idea though. Hes the right size, though needs a few kg. He will have been in the system for 2 years and already up to speed , esp having trained with the likes of Sydney. Its not ridiculously far fetched .

I hope we are targeting every good young (and some old) player who are out of contract and even some whom aren't.

I had some mail that Zac struggled with the move to Sydney. Had a girlfriend he didn't want to leave who he hadn't gotten much time with before he was drafted. The mail was that once he played the couple of senior games and as things went on he acclimatised.

To be honest if we got him I'm not sure it would be a huge poaching exercise. I think if he plays games and settles well then he'll sign on at Sydney. It's a great club, we can only hope after this year we'll have closed the gap somewhat. But if he still wants to be in Melbourne (the city) as well as struggles for a game then I really hope he picks Melbourne as his destination.

IF Zac is available and Roos deems him to be the right player for the right role at the right price then I am sure he will make a play for him. He would be made very welcome I am sure. Sounds like he has a great attitude and if anything like his bro would be a great pick up.

Sweet news Dazzle.

Great to see someone with some motivation to succeed.

I often thought Jones might still hold a grudge for that and glad to see Zac is carrying the flame.

If this is true I want him here.

Even if he gets rubbed out for a few .give him a run!

Given his brother is captain and three time b&f winner, I'd expect Zac to want to be involved.

Nathan Jones is MFC, he has basically been a one man show the past 3 years - honourable mention to Dom Tyson in 2014.

We'll sign this young Jones kid up, it is that simple.

Except it's not.

Benefits of Melbourne:

- Lives in Melb

- Plays with his brother

- 1 year under Roos before an untried coach

- No guarantees about winning games

Benefits of Sydney

- Success!

- Isn't at a basketcase of a club

- Plays with superstars

- Lives in Bondi

- Coached for the foreseeable future by a Premiership coach

Then there's the matter of the trade. Sydney might still be banned from signing free agents or trading for players. In which case they might scoff at our likely offer (if Zac shows something similar to his 2014 form) of a 2nd round pick (which is hopefully later than earlier in the 20's). They might walk him through to the PSD out of spite and he might then end up at another club. Maybe the saints, where training at Seaford wouldn't be so bad for a Mt Eliza boy.

Geeze you're pushing muck uphill when "1 year under Roos before an untried coach" and "No guarantees about winning games" are posed as "benefits".

What about an exciting young list to develop alongside or more opportunity to play early in the career?

If the ban on Sydney isn't repealed for 2016 then that could muddy the waters. But there's little doubt that being able to play with his brother in Melbourne will be massive drawcard that I would suggest could overrule other concerns from Zak's perspective.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
