Show him some consideration - don't bother him until he's finished mugging the players. I'm sure he'll be happy to give you a word or two and an autograph then.

Just received my email regarding final training. The Club are having a BBQ for all members and supporters to come and watch final training. I'm hanging to meet Saty - my hero

Can you please get a photo of him showing off his guns?

I will be easily recognisable, I will be in a rather nice lavender lycra bodysuit, complaining about the lack of toilet facilities, bad temperedly kicking the non-existent advertising signage around the fence, and whingeing non stop about Jack Watts and how he just doesn't seem to be trying at traiining

Actually chap, for the grand old age of 62, I'm not in that bad a shape, if I say so myself, if it will assist you in something going forward, I could PM you one if you like

I reckon Saty could have been a jockey in his youth in the mother country.

I don't reckon he has put on any weight since.

Guns? Not even water pistols.

Looking forward to all the reports.

I wouldn't bother if I were you... the thread has already taken a turn for the worse, and it hasn't even officially started yet :-)

uh huh.

I only read the training reports for the weirdness these days.

I mean who cares about the training? What matters is potting Saty for being OCD and /or unhealthy obsessed.

[censored] 'em Saty. My grandmother spent a good 60 of her 90 years doing whatever it took to help 'her boys' of the MFC. If there was something to be done she was there to do it, and she did it with a smile and not expecting a thank you. All that mattered to her was that her beloved boys were supported so they could smash the other eleven pretenders to the throne.

At her funeral there was an all star cast of the 50's and 60's teams, and she was carried away with 'Grand Old Flag' playing.

The club needs people like you, Saty. Don't let the naysayers get you down.

Saty, I'm curious as to what the players call you at training? Is it Saty? TDI? Pete?

On a serious note...

I think we should start to more formally recognise Saty's efforts. As a poster earlier said, every footy club needs people like Saty involved, and while I know some of us take the pi$$, we do appreciate any news that he filters back.

It got me thinking how we could actually do something like this. When I started looking through some of Saty's training photos he posted on his Twitter account, as soon as I found a photo of the great man himself, I immediately thought of the word famous Vic Flowers (see below). Now, some of you may not know him by his correct name, however he is the leader of the Barmy Army (often referred to the name Jimmy, given his similar appearance to that of Jimmy Savile. If you've had a look at Saty's photos, we could have our very own Vic Flowers (that's not to say that you remind me of Jimmy Saville, Saty).

Given the amount of muscle we at Demonland can flex, could we somehow arrange it so that Saty become the official and spiritual leader of our Demon Army? Get him dressed up is some classic retro MFC gear, get a flag that's to the total maximum allowable size, and have him attend as many games as possible to pump the crowd up?

As we are hopefully starting to improve, and should win more games in the years to come, the Demon Army will continue to grow, and having an icon, similar to what Vic is to the Barmy Army, I think it would be great.

Hopefully this doesn't get too close to the stuff that CS used to implement (with much negativity from many on here).

Nb. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

Given that The Devil Inside already has a multitude of aliases such as Satyricon, Satyriconhome and Pete...and given he's admitted to being a pom and 62 years old...are you certain that he isn't also Vic Flowers?

Billy, actually Lynden Dunn calls me the old [censored], but as most of the others don't read Demonland, most call be Peter, if they actually know it, to Howie for instance everybody is "mate"

Actually this is rather sad, I actually asked one of the senior players why they don't read Demonland, I won't name him, they were advised not to as it was just full of negativity

I wonder why?

Might have something to do with the results over an eight year period.

Spot on. After a win this place turns senior players are all time greats and youngsters are future hall of famers. If players want to read something positive then we don't ask for much, just a few wins would do it!

I wouldn't advise them to read this site even when we are winning.

It's like social media, the players don't real time updates of what the fans think of them. There is no value for the players to get involved in a forum designed to dissect the club they play at and the players themselves.

They get the drift from those leaning over the fence in games anyway...

That is why I asked one of the senior players who is on Twitter, where they get [censored] as well, his answer was what I typed, I find it nteresting the few posters demanding wins and the negativity will stop, how simplistic, let me know where you all work and next time you [censored] up I can write something negative on social media

Saty.. it is a public forum. There WILL always be negativity in any sports forum you read whether they are winning or losing. There is always that one person who's never satisfied.

And if its not the negativity they cop on the twitter its the stalking and hassling they get from guys like you.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
