Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm here but where are you other sycophants?

My one finger typing being what it is I won't be much use at breathlessly awestruck training description.

Had to go to work - needs to go to the house of mirrors

All the big names - dlands own blue beard made a cameo

My usual ''can't ride past without stopping and having a look'' cameo that is ...

Nice work, DR. Not sure what is in the house of mirrors or why I need to go there ... (and my hammies are fine, OD).

I will add that this was the first time I had seen Trengove for a while, and he has obviously spent his time well in the gym --- he is looking ripped!

Pity about his foot!

I suggest the house of mirrors refers to Clarke.

I think DR was referring to him having a good hard look at himself but I may be wrong.

Ah! I see now. Sorry DR. Hopefully Mr. Clarke will pull up his socks at the same time ... :)

I stopped by for an hour this morning.

Dawes and Jamar looking very lean and fit.

Tyson looked like a bit of a ringmaster out there very confident and vocal.

I will be very surprised if Petracca, Brayshaw and Frost don't get regular games next season, they do not look out of place at all, Brayshaw is a beautiful set shot....everyone was calling Petracca "Truck"

Lumumba very encouraging to the youngsters

Garlett showing his pace, looks pretty quick

Hogan an imposing figure, very agile for his size

The Gidstar was in attendance this morning and provided his report and pictures (to be loaded shortly)

It is the subtle glance around his shoulder, after kicking an incredible, inside-out banana from the boundary line that gives you the impression that Jeff Garlett is going to be our next Jeff Farmer. He hides in the shadows of Dawes and Pederson and produces the extraordinary. He is going to be an entertainer and will hopefully bring some much-needed excitement back to the Dees.

The Wednesday training session is the lightest session of the week but this didn’t prevent the usual hard nut suspects in Dunn, Cross, Jones and Kent from putting in a hard session. Kent was boxing, giving and receiving some serious body blows, hardening up and shaping up for a big season. Dunn takes everything seriously and seems has adopted a new nickname – Gerbil.

Some really exciting signs from Jesse Hogan who spent most of the session with the other big men in Jamar, Fitzpatrick and King, battling in some contested marking. Hogan won most the marking contests quite easily but maybe that’s more of a comment about his opposition. He certainly looks like he will play round 1 if he avoids injury.

Out of the new boys in Patracca is the clear stand out. He is explosive. He is confident and he is strong. Most importantly, he kicks set-shots under pressure. Although Roos likes to ease them in, I reckon he is a shoe in for round 1 match.

In comparison, young Angus Brayshaw, Billy Stretch, Oscar MacDonald and Alex Neale Bullen seem a bit more timid on the track. They certainly have loads of ability but I think they will take a bit more time to mature.

Jack Trengove was in a moon boot hobbling around in a mobile device and Jack Watts was running laps. Didn’t quite know what to make of his joking and smiling demeanour. I would have preferred to see the look I saw on Heritier Lumumba’s face who looked like training was dead serious business.

Mitchell White and Aaron Vandenberg already look like they are part of the furniture. Both bring a level of seriousness. If I had to put a bet on it, I would place my money on White to play before Vandenberg.

While is was a only a Wednesday training in December, and as Melbourne supporters we all like to get excited pre Christmas. But the team morale and culture, led by Paul Roos seems to be in tact. There is a pleasing balance between a hard work and sense of enjoyment that gives some confidence about the MFC as a group. Lets hope we take it into 2015.

everyone was calling Petracca "Truck"....you must be a KIwi?...they call him "Trac' or "Tracca", Brayshaw is Gus, Oscar Mc gets 'Osc" and White gets "Whitey", haven't got the others yet

Missing today Fitzpatrick, Vince and JKH (Dave Misson said he was crook)

Asked Dave Misson about training and Maroochydore, training finishes a week on Friday then back on 5th Jan, week here and then 5 sessions in Maroochydore, so a week and a bit, said no specific heat training, just training in the heat and the humidity, footy will be main focus, probably good away from other prying eyes

Rehab group today Watts, McKenzie, Kent (who now has a rather cool full arm tattoo), Stretch, Spencer, Riley and a triking Jack Trengove

For all the Gawndog lovers, he was pumped today, did 5 out of the 6 drills, as he towers over me, was showered in the sweat that was pouring off him whilst he was talking to me

Another Dunny bit, was doing marking and spoiling drills with Miller coaching and on the bag, Miller stressed that they needed to do it like they were in a game, so Dunny proceeded to put his elbow into Miller's ribs, Miller responded by giving Dunn a fearsome whack with the bag

Howie was showing off his one handed skills, managed to get his thumb trapped in a jumper during a drill last Friday, didn't dislocate but has it heavily strapped

Photos will be on Twitter Demonpk

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
