Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

2015 Demonland Dream Team Comp

Dream Team - Promotion / Demotions

Legends League (Div 1) Tridents (Div 2) Redlegs (Div 3) (and a Div 4 IF required)

"Total Season Points" scored for the entire season are used to calculate League & Ladder positions.

The amount of games won during the season are irrelevant, BUT may be used for a 'countback' if required.

1: The Grand Final winner in the Trident league (Div 2) replaces last on the ladder in the Legends League (Div 1) (regardless of Total Season Points scored)

* Finish on the bottom of the ladder in any league, its a automatic demotion to the next lowest League. * Replaced by the GF winner in the next lowest League.

2: The next Team to be promoted will be the highest "Total Season Points" Team from the next lowest League, IF higher than lowest Season scorer in the next highest League.

3: If 3 Leagues are required, the Team that wins the Minor GF in Div 3, gets a wild card entry into Div 2, IF a current team drops out for the following year. This team will be the 1st team invited to make up 18 teams in the "Tridents League" (Div 2). Then we revert back to the normal process to elevate teams. Its just an extra incentive, a reward if you like for a Minor GF winner. This only applies in Div 3 to Div 2.

===========================================================

All Coaches / Teams MUST confirm for the season. Non confirmed coaches will be deemed as NON starters.

I would advise everyone to check their Scores from last year, mistakes can happen. Its a long and tedious task to compile the scores and arrange the leagues. If you have confirmed or posted an expression of interest to play and you dont see your team in a league, plz speak up, it may have been an oversight.

All confirmed Coaches will be sent a Code to join their league , via Personal Message (You need a Demonland account for this)

If you take too long to respond and join your designated league, your place will be forfeited and a team from a lower league will replace your team.

Codes for the Legends League will be sent out first. Followed by the Trident League etc etc. I need everyone to join quickly, as it holds up the next tier league.

Regardless of past history, returning past coaches that missed a year or more and all new players will all start in the lowest league.

Unless vacant spots are available in a higher league.

Teams failing to play out a year (Ghost Ships) risk not being included in a league the following year, preferences will be given for returning and 1st time players.

You dont need to be invited to join and play, but you will need a DLand account to post your expression of interest and to receive a league Code.

'Guests' are Teams that haven't setup a Demonland account, and will have a league set aside once all DLand users have joined their the leagues.

A league code will be made public as a free for all, on a 1st in basis. This will be posted once all the "ranked" leagues have been finalised.

A Demonland "Melbourne Supporter Group League" will be setup and all Demon Supporters can join and you can compare your scores with everyone else in the group. A code for this league will be posted and made public when this "Group" league has been setup.

Happy to listen to suggestions and answer any questions.

I was particularly disappointed with the AFL Fantasy game this year. The App was clumsy and the assistant coach was didn't really assist anything. I was making changes for the sake of it towards the end of the season, never with any real thought put it into it.

DeeVoted, I know you had the vote for AFL Fantasy or Virtual Sports DT games for this season and if I had to choose again I would prefer to give the VS DT comp a whirl.

I was waiting for this to be debated. I am going to strongly recommend we move the comp to VT Dream Team. In fact I may just set up the comp on VT regardless. Its stable and was like the old dream team we are all used to playing.

I very much doubt AFL Fanatsy will have all their problems solved for the 2015 season, I am sure they will fix some of the issues, and probably unravel more issues. For 2016, we can re-visit what web site we use. I dont think we need to go through all the problems they experienced, but it well below what we would have expected.

The sentiment was the same from most of the people I personally know that played Fantasy.

I don't think you'll get much resistance.

Have been playing RDT/Fantasy for a few years a would love to get in a league if there's room!

I played both this year, but RDT is so much better. Not even close.

Welcome barra17, I'll throw in a league somewhere, there is always room.

Post your team name when you can. Good luck.

I suppose I had better confirm myself as a starter, DV!

And another vote for RDT (but I'll probably have a team in the other one as well...).

I will keep updating the confirmations as they come in. On the subject of AFL Fanatsy, I will setup a league for anyone that will be playing both.

I want to keep tabs on Fantasy's improvement to their site.

Team name: Lost Souls.

I went better in AF than DT this year. Had a shocker in DT

Also, the good thing is with DT (some will think it isn't), you need to make smart moves with limited trades. Injuries then become a concern whether to hold or fold. Just makes it a little more interesting rather than AF and just throw them out and get someone else in.

I'll admit that I didn't pay much attention to my DT this year. Hoping to turn it around next season. Maestros Devil's will return fit and firing for 2015.

I'd like to join a league if there is space. I wasn't in any Demonland leagues last year. I played both the AFL Fantasy and Real DT comps in 2014, so I don't mind which one is chosen.

I don't have a team name yet for 2015, I change it over each year.

So which format are we using for 2015?

The comp is moving to Real Dream Team for 2015. (Unless there is an uproar from existing coaches.)

I plan to setup a AFL Fantasy league in 2015 (no bearing on the comp),for those that wish to play both DT formats. I can see another vote coming up on what format we use in 2016. I personally don't care either way, as long as it;s easy to arrange the leagues and get all the details I need for the comp.

Welcome to the comp.I have you marked down to join a league.

For anyone wondering, there is plenty of room to join the comp leagues. This applies to past and new players.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
