Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Not arguing with you. But I first read about this news this afternoon on News.com.au.

It said that he had turned up to preseason in bad shape. The article has since been updated and the passage regarding this is no longer there.

I don't think it was bad shape, but he hadn't done the off-season regime so that definitely says his heart wasn't in it.

Good luck dom.

I personally was a fan of you and believed you had a big future with the MFC.

You have done alot of us here woukd ever dream of and thats play for the mighty MFC.

It's sad to see a poor man's Weetra leave the club.

I'm disappointed that we couldn't see him reach his true potential by averaging 5 disposals a match at VFL level for the next 2 years.

I was right again he never should have got a new contract and you were wrong again.

It wasn't the exact wording.

But it had implied that the he was unfit. Hence why posters are under that impression.

When I come across off-kilter posters like Werridee, often the only conclusion I can come to is that they're Communication 101 students doing a research project in trolling as part of their Social Media unit.

Good luck with the studies Werridee, let us know how you get on. It's the least you could do.

Unbelievably, you could argue that gws are winning the Scully defection!

We've got nothing so far out of Hogan, Barry, or Toumpas, and the cash saved by not having Scully was splurged on Clark...suffice to say that didn't go to plan.

We sure can pick em!

Ahhhh! No you couldn't.

GWS have tied themselves to a LT financial millstone who is at best a mediocre player with little leadership potential to offset the yawning gap between what he is paid. And they paid handsomely in giving up Hogan and pick 4. There is an issue with what MFC did with pick 4 but that should not distract away from the fact we dodged a bullet with Scully.

Hogan has missed one season through a collision injury and already he is dissed! Demonland at this best. The jury is still out on Toumpas (and there is no doubt if we took Wines you would be chortling). Barry is inconsequential to the deal

Toumpas will be okay.

His biggest failure thus far has been in being picked ahead of Jack Viney's best mate, who has turned out to be a future superstar.

Not one club blinked when we called out his name at pick 4 in that draft. Some posters here, rather conveniently, seem to consistently overlook this.

Think it is a lose/lose situation. Scully is not or ever will be a million dollar player and is not a good leader so will never captain the club.

A disaster all round.

A bit premature. Toumpas and Hogan are still works in progress though I have doubts about Toumpas at this stage. I think Hogan will go OK once he actually starts playing.

I think Scully will be a very good player but this is somewhat distorted by the overs GWS paid for him. Since they had to pay someone I don't think the overs paid came at any significant cost to GWS's list.

Hogan is yet to play a game for us but looks to be a very good player and the first genuine KPF prospect since Neitz.

I think in 5 years time both Melbourne amd GWS will look back and be happy with our respective players.

I won't give you flack, just say that you have no idea whatsoever what is required to a. get drafted and b. stay on a list, that's why you are posting about players and not being posted about, yes they have a dream job, but the pressure it puts on young guys is ridiculous for something that is a sport

This is one of the stupidest replies I have ever read on this forum? What is relevant to what I have said, how does your conclusion that I know nothing about what it takes to be drafted and remain on a list have anything to do with the point I made about continuing to support these blokes who break their contracts relate?

In a normal job if an employee breaches contract and quits, does the business continue to provide financial support and emotional support? I hardly think so. The result of what we have done is that we have had [censored] thrown in our faces, first Jurrah and most recently Clark. We give them all this 'support' and get nothing back. Cut losses and move on. simple

The Players through their Association are the ones that want re numeration and contracts according to commercial business principles.

They can't have it both ways - if they break a contract they should be accountable in the same way clubs are.

Good luck with getting that one past the union.

Hogan has won the b&f and goal kicking as a 17 year key forward at Casey. Quite happy with how it is progressing at the moment thanks.

His biggest failure is his own. He is yet to make a decent impression at AFL so far. I know it's early days but he is coming off a low base.

I don't know why you make a point about the blinking. I bet you weren't there at the draft on the day. There was sufficient consternation at the time that given what we knew about Wines....we overlooked him. And unless Toumpas turns it around significantly it will be another lost opportunity that haunts us.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
