Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

.... and we can offer the most coin. Some on field improvement in 2015 is what is required.

here here.... it's about time our club had some luck on field

If Jonesy is excited for 2015 so am I (I assume he was based on the tweet about recruiting)

Add Brayshas and Lever/whoever (ready to go rd 1 2015 types) and I am looking forward to 2015

Thanks GNF.

There was clearly plenty going on - apparently GWS went hard after Stevie J, Motlop and Jeremy Howe really late on. They plonked pick 6 down for Howe and we were stunned but didn't have time to even think about it. Amazing stuff (got this from Mark Stevens, I have no inside source!)

Because its a weak draft this year. I reckon anyway.

You said, and I quote, "I think this place took a turn for the worse when the riddler posted his opportunistic shyte".

I was assuming that "this place" was referring to Demonland, the "riddler" was a reference to GNF, and "opportunistic shyte" was a reference to his riddles. You genuinely can't see how your post might be interpreted in that way?

No, when I said the riddler, I meant the person using the username called 'the riddler'. but yes, this place does refer to demonland. If I wanted to refer to GNF then I would have stated GNF

I still have no idea how someone could interpret my post to mean anything other than it was intended. Is it really that hard?

DYLAN SHIEL has to be to the number one target next year for me. He's out of contract, as is Treloar, and I hope we're already getting into at least one if not both of these guys ears with big offers put in front of their managers. I would rather either of these two than Jeremy Cameron who is also out of contract next year incidentally as is Hoskin-Elliot, Coniglio and Devon Smith. Would love any of these guys to add to our midfield, WHE is the only one who I'm a bit iffy on the rest - please MFC for the love of God get cracking on these guys NOW!

Yep, we have to have a big crack:

I can understand why they may have gone for Howe. They desperately need someone for the 20 second highlight reel for the Sydney evening news. Six million dollar boy just can't cut it.

So we can expect another rubbish year from Jack Watts. His confidence would be pretty low if we shopped him around to every club.

I've only just opened this thread and might be replying too early, but I do find it rather amusing that MFC (as a list management group) can shop Watts around after the Trengove trade went [censored]-up but then Roosy poured cold water on it because he values Watts too much.

If a Watts had the potential to secure Dangerfield or any other A grade mid and Roosy hit it on the head then I'd be absolutely amazed.

First Roos has no idea how to use the sub, now he values Jack Watts over an instant fix of the midfield. When does Goodwin start?

Wonder how Trenners feels when Jack Watts is more wanted than he is. Ouch.

Page 2.

Like I said, probably posted to early.

I don't mind a good rumour and have enjoyed reading GNF's comments but the Watts deal breaker is golden.

I'm not sure I'm buying this.

I mean our interest in Dangerfield was confirmed a long way out. If he was accepting of our contract and Adelaide decided to cash in then 3 and 23 would've been a really good start and we surely had days to upgrade that second pick. The Trengove deal happened on Friday. That's the best part of the week to find an alternative. Was Watts the only offered? Surely we had alternatives. 23 probably only had to get in to the low-mid teens and from there Adelaide have to accept.

I can't imagine Adelaide wouldn't have been helping us get the deal done because if they realised he was going next year then the best they can hope for is one pick and somewhere between 8 and 12 most likely.

I can't think that any swans discussions wouldn't have been laughed out the door. They lost the grand final. They have no need to trade a top player for a draft pick no matter how high.

Would love Shiel, wouldn't sneeze at Greene and would be ecstatic to land Treloar. I tell yas, the next Judd, the latter kid.

Surely we had alternatives.

It's not whether or not WE had alternatives, it's whether or not any other club had alternatives. We can hardly turn around to Richmond and say "Looks like the Trenners deal isn't going to work out. Tell you what, you can have Sam Blease instead, we'll send over the paperwork."

Even the "we should have shipped Watts out" ignores the fact that many clubs might not have been interested, and the ones that were might not have had the picks/salary cap to make a trade work. For example, if Watts was worth in the 10 - 15 range - only Richmond, WCE, Crows, Geelong and Freemantle had picks in that range. Hard to see any of them wanting/taking him, even if they could.

You only have to read the comments from Richmond (re Armitage) and Port (re Gorringe) to see how a lot of these trades are really like getting a camel through the eye of a needle.

Surely it was Walsh coming into the Crows and vetoing any possible Dangerfield trade...

No I didn't, but it's not surprising that I missed it. There's so much background noise going on in this place now that I tend to skip 80% of the content.

No need to apologise, all good.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
