Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Sauce Dazzler?

That sounds positive if true.

Source maybe B. Vince?

I preferred the story that you were under the family couch at the time Dazzle. Would have loved to see his father's reaction when he heard an unaccounted for "YESSSSS!!!" coming from under the furniture upon hearing Roos speak.

Thats hilarious!

Because it doesn't work that way, he only has his service record at Adelaide. If he moves to another club he goes back to year one.

...but I do think you are right, the thread is pure fantasy.

Cash cash cash cash cash cashhhhhh

Pick 3 & Toumpas would be very tempting for the Crows.

Toumpas will be a pretty good player when he gets over his niggles & Brayshaw has the potential also.

Danger is pretty awesome, but would he want to come to Melbourne?

Danger has knocked back big money from Essendon & Geelong in the past.

Well if part of the allure we had of nabbing him involved signing up Goodwin, Adelaide have basically nullified our plan with a master stroke that should see Danger stay at the Crows.

Pricks.

I know it's a cut throat business, but is there ANY club this year that isn't trying to completely [censored] us over in new and exciting ways? Colonwood and Druggies with Clark, Adelaide with succession plan, Freo and Geelong with Frawley (arguably the former will help by increasing his contract though), GWS with their condescending comments on the priority pick, etc.

So the theory is that Ricciuto was instrumental in Sanderson getting the chop and his best friend Goodwin was over in Adelaide talking to the club.

Ricciuto owns a pub in Adelaide with Walker, Dangerfield and Sloane and several players including Walker were critical of the coach in their exit interviews.

What does this tell you; well I'd say that Goodwin will be coach and we haven't got a chance with any of the players.

Back to the drawing board.

Jokes on Adelaide then when he leaves next year and all they get is pick 10.

Clubs need to wake up to free agency. Why settle for one compensation pick when other clubs will pay overs in a trade? Thankfully Roos has his head around the concept. I'm sure if he could do his time over he would've traded Frawley last year

So why didnt he trade him? Dont tell me he believed his BS about waiting to see how the team went. In FA times you have to strike early and hard or you will be [censored] around by selfish players and managers

Easier said than done though. Do we trade Nate Jones this year if he doesn't extend his contract?

Regrettably, I suspect you're on the money here.

Is there any evidence AT ALL that Dangerfield wants out?? His name gets mentioned every trade period and all you hear from him is how much he loves the Crows and how he is encouraging others to sign on etc...

I have always wondered if other Clubs Fan Forums have a Patrick Dangerfield thread in their trades section also

I'm not. He doesn't have any contacts.

Source is my uncle, works in the SANFL, has done for the last 12 years, knows a lot of the crows boys. I have mentioned info from him previously on here.

He said Dangerfield had a meeting with the club about extending his contract and to see if he was open to begin talks, he said he wanted a clear blueprint of how the club planned on winning a premiership before he would consider re-commit, the club is aware of offers to Dangerfield from Victorian clubs already being on the table, he said that some of the trade deals he has heard are quite good when compared to the potential free agency compensation that might be on offer next year, Sanderson wasn't 100% against the idea.

Basically suggesting they have panicked and believed they needed a change to try and convince Danger to stay.

Just so you know I have at least one contact who can find things out ;)

Has he now? Can't remember him being a FA in the past.

I know the cats are working towards getting him next year.

Danger & his manager don't knock back meetings with other clubs, including Melbourne.

I'd say it hasn't been him rejecting big money, but rather that a deal hasn't come along that satisfied all parties, but most would be open to it.

[censored] Danger.

I wish the AFL had the trust that we could this time around build a dynasty on our own. Trust that we have the right recruiters, development coaches and players to provide the perfect environment for young players to thrive. Of course I completely get that we've had ample opportunity in previous drafts/years and we've got it so horribly wrong. But I don't care to wait now. I don't want to offer the world for a bonafide star of the comp who was brought to life by another club.

I want us to do it ourselves for once.

I want us to be ruthless in our objective to draft the best two mids of this year in Petracca and Brayshaw, (insert any other player out recruiters believe have star qualities) And inject maybe a ROK, Malceski and Lumumba to add to Cross, Vince and Dawes who were not stars of the comp but who tick the box as teachers and players who will actually nurture and mentor young players unlike Sylvia, Moloney and Frawley in recent times.

I understand there's an argument that the MFC can't be afforded anymore time to 'rebuild' and need immediate improvement. But there is risk in everything. Every trade. Look at what has happened to Clarke.

It's only my view. But I see us as being extremely lucky to have another opportunity and crack at potentially nabbing two of the best mids in this draft and developing them RIGHT. I don't want to hear one post bring up our past failings because the variables involved are now completely different.

It's time to unearth our own stars of the competition.

Petracca

Brayshaw

Viney

Tyson

Salem

Hogan

Under the tutelage of potentially:

Cross

Jones

ROK

Malceski

Vince

Dawes

Lumumba

Vs

Scully

Trengove

Morton

Gysberts

Blease

Strauss

(Who were drafted by a completely different recruiting group headed by possibly the worst recruiter of all time)

Under the tutelage of:

Green

Moloney

Sylvia

Frawley

Jones

Etc

We have been given a golden second opportunity to have a shot at getting it right.

My thoughts anyway..

Who mentioned anything about free agency? It was mentioned in a article a few years back after he made those comments about Tippett leaving the crows.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
