Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't understand this mentality - the club would not be so stupid as to offer this kind of contract to danger without having enough to keep hogan when his contract comes up. We have the $$ to have both.

I reckon also, Danger's will be very heavily front ended, & sliding to allow for Jesse's contract to grow, & then others as well in future... take the money up front Danger buy your property while you can..... then you can settle into rhythm enjoying your football with a rising phoenix.

A big offer to Danger, if the Dees know he is already committed to Geelong, could be camouflage for another target.

could be TT, or it could be a red hot go for Danger,,, & if it falls flat its advertising for other contracted elite players who maybe wish they weren't contracted. licking lips...

lets see watt pans out in all this?

I'm a bit disappointed everyone has failed to piece the jigsaw together. It's clear that Franklin is out of Sydney and a big chance of ending up at the Dees. We got into Dangerfield's ear with the news. He deliberately didn't name a team of preference because he has assured Melbourne that if Buddy signs so will he.

While I understand your man crush on Hogan (have one myself), I watched him at training and went out to Casey just to see him play that first year and also think he could be the forward of his generation.

Personally, I think Schwartz before he did his knees was a better talent.

A great talent. I remember him starring at Victoria Park in defence.

Schwarz was more spectacular, while I prefer Hogan's attack in contests.

We'll agree to differ.

In other news, Alastair Clarkson is replacing Paul Roos as senior coach of the Dees next year.

Hogan v Schwarz, finally some arguments that aren't about how [censored] we are.

Roos on AFL360 said that we did not offer 10mil for Paddy.

Was told a long time ago it was cats or crows.

I don't think he'll end up at Melbourne.

But Roos is just keeping his cards close to his chest. The club is under no obligation to tell the truth re. what it's offered. It can lie about it as much as it wants. There's no rule against that. You can't be 100% sure until a deal is 100% done. Until then every other Victorian team is a chance, albeit a small one.

I only heard the sound grab but did Buckley then get stuck into Robbo for asking such a specific question?

Link?

Robbo asked Roos

  • "Have you offered Dangerfield $X amount over X years?"
  • Roos replied with "I haven't no"
  • Buckley laughed and said "Ask a broader question" as in you asked if ROOS has offered in which he said he personally hasn't so Buckley was getting Robbo to ask a broader question as in "Has Melbourne offered him a contract"

Bucks moreso made a joke about Robbo asking such a specific question because it allowed Roos to explicitly say no. Afterwards Bucks asked him (Robbo) to ask a more general question regarding melbournes offer to Danger to see if Roos could still answer in the same way. Seemed to be in jest and just having a laugh at how easy Robbo made it for Roos to say no

---- dang it beat me too it!

Robbo is a pathetic excuse for a journalist.

I thought his reputation on her was ill-deserved until I watched him interview Hogan.

Yes he did, it made it easy for Roos to dance around the question. Whether it is true or not, technically I believe you aren't allowed to make offers yet.

Some peanut on facebook claiming we will trade Toumpas to cats for Josh Walker, who will then trade Toump to Adelaide for Dangerfield.

Lol. Is it necessary to mention that? There are enough ridiculous trades suggested on Demonland to last a lifetime.

And this is example 101 of why you should never even bother reading Facebook rumour pages. It still annoys me that people even bother posting them here.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
