I don't think we'll have to use our 2nd rounder on Stretch.

He'd need to show some serious improvement for other teams to bid in the first round.

Even then, I don't think we'd be certainties to match.

I think he's a bit light, & would take 2 or 3 yrs on the list to build up for todays contested footy. I reckon somewhere around the mid to late 30's for that type.

I wouldnt give up that much for Tomlinson.

maybe

pick 6 and 3rd rounder for Tomlinson and pick 20

You say you wouldn't give up that much for him and then proffer pick 6 and a 3rd rounder. Horrible deal, IMO. I wouldn't go for him, but if we did, there's no way we'd give up a first rounder for him, particularly a top 10 pick.

If we lose chip we should trade picks 5,6, 24 and blease for treloar, Patton and orourke

IMO we not likely to lose Chip now that Roos has committed for another year!

I would either give up Pick 3-4 for Adam Treloar, or HOLD and get Angus Brayshaw. Both will be absolute stars.

I'd give up pick 3 for Treloar in a heart beat, where do we sign up!

Pick 3 or 4, for Treloar/Shiel, would be seen as a big win for us.

You're hilarious.

But you still talk rubbish.

Pity you have only mastered the latter skill Machsy.

O'Rourke killed it today with 33 disposals for the GWS twos.

Potential is there, needs some work and development and will be atleast a 'good player.' Second rounder or Blease for O'Rourke with a swap of later picks?

Against a make up team from GC who can't field a full reserves side, in the NEAFL where Mitchell gets 60+ and Kola....from GC before playing ones got into the 40's before they stopped counting.

O'Rourke may or may not be a good get but he's most certainly not worth a 1st rounder at present, he needs to be picking up 30's to 40's to get back in the AFL team then start getting some 20 +'s and a rising star nomination to be worth that I would think.

Off contract at the end the season. Only managed 7 games over the past two seasons after being taken at pick 2 in 2012.

I think he is definitely worth looking into. What would be a reasonable offer?

Every mark I saw him go at last week was one-handed, and he turned it over time and time again.

Morton-esque performance.

Let's see how he goes in the remainder of the season, but at this stage he'd have the same value as a Toumpas - probably second rounder.

Probably a second rounder, wouldn't get near our high picks unless we got another top 10 pick back and even then I would be very hesitant

but I do rate him as a player, just need to see a bit more before he is worth a big investment

Perhaps another Dom Tyson kind of trade where by we trade our pick 4 (Frawley compensation pick hopefully) for O'Rourke and a pick in the 7-10 bracket? Possibly with a swap of later picks in our favour?

Just wondering if now if the time to get him before he improves and value rockets. Obviously that may never happen (story of MFC's life)

He's no where near Tyson as a player, Tyson always showed something. O'Rourke hasn't to date so no he is not worth a first round pick even if we get one back.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
